Hello Cori! Just wanted to say thank you for all the great content- People like you, Kaisafit and athlean x are so precious to the fitness community. Could you please share a little bit about your background? Not that i would EVER doubt your legitimacy as a trainer (not at all) but I've been wondering if you come from another specific sport or strickly fitness? PS: I love how your dog is always so -jumpy-, excited and vigorous. I dont have a dog (never have) but it's crazy how the dog's personnality always matches the owner's. So cute! Greetings from Switzerland

You inspire me to get back to being active again. Being 50 years old is not easy as it sounds bu I'm doing it slowly. I love all your videos! I'm curious, is it possible to gain muscles without using weights? I only watch your videos without using any weights. My goal s to feel good and look good before the next school year. Lol. Thank you for your time and the dedication to show me and the rest of us of how to work out safely.

It's a fact, very few do correct pushups. I spent 20 years in the Army and you would think soldiers would be good at pushups. NO. The higher the rank the worse the PU. I think that's why they are ending the PU for the PT Test. I really appreciate your expertise, and I am going to use this video and your newer -NEVER Do Push Ups Like This - Avoid These 4 Common Mistakes-- vid as my new pushup guide.

The most sensible approach to developing a press-up I-ve seen
I tried doing press-ups at the beginning of the lock down and discovered an injury in one of my shoulders that was not apparent doing chest presses at the gym
At the age of 66 I-ve become convinced that functional movements are the way to go
So listen to both your body and the good advice given here

Since I have zero upper body strength I started off with wall pushups. Do you have any advice to combat the horrible pain I get in the neck muscle (its either my traps or my scm muscle) I get the next day? I-ve tried doing less pushups but more reps but that hasn-t helped. I-d really love to strengthen my arms and upper body.

Man I find doing pushups even on the knees it's easier of course BUT it's uncomfortable for my knees. It's like my knee caps move. not sure how it should feel and if this is fine and is it conditioning. like when doing a martial art? Please confirm if this is unhealthy for the knees?

Hi,
In your video, you retract you scaps when you lower yourself to the ground and protract as you push up.
I learned to keep my scaps retracted tight throughout the pushup. Is this incorrect, or would this be a variation of some sort?
I love your videos by the way! -

My strategy was not this advance. I took a giant pillow between my arms. Crashed into it like Launchpad McQuack when I couldn-t hold myself up and then pushed myself up. Over and over and over again.
I can do push-ups now, safe crashing lovelies -

I've never been able to do them. The go-to move is that knee pushup, but that so hard. I thought it was just me. I'm glad you said it's harder. Thank you for explaining the process on how to work up to a proper pushup. You're wonderful!
