This is great to help me look realistically at what I need to do if I want to keep losing weight. I do become complacent. or I might call it bored. with what was working. Another real problem this time of year for me is that I tend to do -carbohydrate loading-. craving carbs for many reasons related to the cool weather and fall season. Thanks for this honest, informative and helpful video. One word about protein I must mention. I lost 40 lbs. easily on a keto diet years ago BUT unbeknownst to me, my kidneys were also damaged and now I am living with kidney disease. It is SO important to work WITH our bodies and stay healthy. That's why I like your videos too. They are open-ended, giving facts but not presenting a specific plan for everybody. We are all different with different risk factors, likes, dislikes (cleaning for me too. if I actually ate the same amount and really did all the cleaning and repairs my house needs I would lose probably all the weight I need to.

Just wanted to say thank you for this video, Lucy! You have been a huge inspiration and what you said about enjoying your training and ignoring the scales are absolutely right. I set myself a goal to do a handstand and I have started to work on my push ups and pull ups (more like dangling on a bar at this point) and it has been fun! I have been maintaining the same weight after losing 30 lbs and couldn-t lose any more for the past two three months. I was pretty annoyed that I was stuck but having a goal like this is giving me another thing to focus on. I will come back in a year and report what happened!

I've been in a plateau for over a month now. I fell off the wagon at Christmas and gained 4lbs plus 0. 7% body fat (up until then I'd lost 1st 7lbs since March 2020. I've been counting calories, but now I'm doubting how many I'm eating is accurate because I just go with what MyFitness Pal suggests. Looking up my TDEE, I feel like I've literally been eating my BMR calories for this entire time and now I don't really know where to go with it. I've started trying to exercise 3-5 times a week but motivation is dwindling again. I'm fed up of counting calories, and I just want my body fat % to reduce.

hi! thank you for this video- I really needed to hear this about plateau. I recently re-started my weightloss journey and I have a lot of willpower, I do 30 minutes of workouts everyday since I started. when I don't see results I'm so sad and I think I haven't ate well yesterday so the next day I eat less. I don't know what I have to eat and how much exercise I have to do. I hope it will get better and I'll watch your video about calories, I want to educate myself about how my body works

Thanks for this very crisp video on the topic. I lost 12kg (26lbs) in 5 months and now I-m stuck at the exact same weight (to the gram exact) for a month. It-s my second week of incorporating resistance training into my routine & I try to up my protein intake. we-ll see how that works. I gotta admit: hitting a weight loss plateau is very very frustrating

I-m recently on my lifestyle change and have to been sticking to my nutrition very well. No cheating or squeezing things in. It-ll be 2 months next week. I-m down 26lbs now but for the week I-ve been stuck at the same weight every morning I know it-s early still in my journey, but would upping my workouts help with this? Thank you!

I currently 8 weeks into a plateau, it-s taken everything in me not to give up on my nutrition and exercise. I still have lots of post-partum weight to lose -. I checked my macros and it seems I-m not eating enough protein, so maybe I need to lower the carbs and increase my protein intake. Thanks so much for the advice.

I was aiming to lose 3-4 kilos a month and at first it went well, but the last 2 months there has been only a small decrease in my weight. I do feel much stronger and fitter though -_-
I'm gonna try to do 2-3 of the things you mentioned and hopefully, it'll work. Thank you for the clear explanations!

losing weight is not easy you guys it takes a lot of work, dedication and especially if you have eating disorders.
looking back 6 months ago I was 264lbs
but now I-m 163lbs. It was pure sacrifice, so I-m here to encourage anyone trying to lose weight not to give up ---

Hey Lucy, good point on protein intake. A question is it okay if I take a break of 3-4 days during my periods. I usually eat more during these days and exercise is just limited to small walks. So I end up feeling guilty of breaking my routine.
