Lucy, thanks for being so inspirational, insightful and beautiful, both inside and out. A few years back I started exercising to improve my mental health and lose some weight, eventually losing 40kgs of fat and since gaining 10kg of muscle. The changes also motivated me to quit snoking, drastically improve my diet and stop being lazy with nutrition by cooking healthy/delicious/cheaper meals at home and no longer eating predominantly for conveneience. Lifting weights and running has changed my life as it makes me happy and importantly maintains discipline and mental toughness when things get tough, while being in the best physical shape of my life at 45 is just a massive bonus. Once my next few exercise goals have been achoeved I'll be giving calisthenics a try as you make it seem so fun and achievable. I really hope that your physical and mental health keep improving and you stay as happy as possible, so good luck with everything!

You are gorgeous and I don-t mean just your physical appearance! It-s hard to relate to people in the fitness industry. But I feel like I can relate to you so much! Just like you-ve said in one of your videos. You watched someone else-s weight loss video and a switch turned on for you to start your fitness and health journey. I watched a video from you a month ago and I felt like my switch went off! I-ve lost 5 pounds in a month from eating cleaner foods that I ENJOY and from working out. I have three sons and they-ve been starting to eat healthier foods as well because that-s what -mommy-s eating. - I struggle with my weight and anxiety so much. But I feel better already knowing that I-m heading in the right direction. Please keep making your videos and inspiring others. You are amazing!

this! I started my journey this January, for 38748th time, but I wanted to do it right, so with my changes around food and movement, I also built other habits: like going to bed early, waking up early, limiting Netflix, learn something new every day(Italian and programming, walking every day in nature (kinda like meditation for me, and everything clicked after a few months- not only I'm down 13kg, but my mental health got so much better! it's a journey so I have a lot of bad days still, but trying to keep my fitness and mental health in balance, and your video just points out that there is a lot behind scenes of weight loss: ) thank you

I didn't realise you injured yourself.
I wordedbout every day qnd lived it. Got to a good weight, toned up, has abs, I felt more confident thank ever. But in January I hurt my back and haven't been able to train since. Turns out I have a damaged disk. It is slowly healing now but I have in the past 6 months put on over a stone, I miss training and I feel so uncomfortable and have lost all my confidence.
I can't wait to get back training again and back to my best.
Feels like long road though. .so wish you were closer to where I live. Would love to hire you for help xxx
Best of luck with your healing xx

I used to be fairly healthy, run half marathons, would go up and down slightly in weight but never anything drastic, until I had an accident which has resulted in permanent damage to both of my feet. I can sympathise with how hard it is to deal with injury, and now know how it must be for others in the same (or worse) situation. That was 4 years ago, and being someone that thought they could never -let themselves go-, is now 70lbs overweight. God its painful to be on this journey but like you say now you can understand what people are going through and helps you help people in their journeys.

Not sure what all you have done for your recovery from the bulging disc but chiropractic is amazing for helping that. I am currently a student working on becoming a doctor of chiropractic and the reason I chose to become a chiro is because of a bulging disc that I also had during my college years playing American football. Nothing else helped except chiropractic and the only other option I was given was corticosteroids which are terrible for your joints. So if you haven't considered chiropractic I hope you will give it a shot. Best of luck on your continued recovery. Your story is very inspiring!

I would like to pinpoint one often overlooked point from this video, that I think might help a lot to anyone losing weight. The issue is weight loss is not one thing you do that changes. It's small changes that accumulate over time. So for anyone who maybe lost 5-10 kilos, but feels like they have gotten nowhere and that no one even noticed etc. Try meeting someone you have not seen for a couple of weeks/months. I can absolutely guarantee you they will notice even a couple of kilos of change. And I can guarantee you those changes however small matter.

Well I just got back 5. 50 am from my 1st bike ride in two years or more. inspired to greet the sunrise. the biggest danger was trying to look everywhere at once the Forest trail a mass of green & Hawthorn white. Fallow deer jumping across the trail in front of me. I never got out of 2nd gear & my bad knee did ok. I guess I'll feel it all later. Only about 4km all in all 1st half freewheeling down hill & the last stretch walking & pushing the bike up towards home & back in bed. Bye stay safe all

I'm 16 years Old, about 75kg, large body frame and 5 foot 9 ( 179 cm) I want to lose about 10kg and also get stronger. Right now in Australia there is a event that is taking place it is Called The Push- Up Challange it is to raise awareness and funds for mental health here in Australia, it runs from the 1 of june to the 25, so in that 25 days we have to do 3, 318 push-ups each. It's Day 4 and I have done 557 push-ups so far.
Thanks Lucy for these vids they are helping me to get started.

I cracked my L3 a couple of years ago in BJJ comp and had a bulging disc issue at the same area a year later. I did loads of physio but nothing seemed to help. That was until I found elephant walks and this made my lower back pain slowly get less and started to allow me to build up my lower back strength again with exercises like reverse hyper. Haven-t had any issues since then! I would definitely give elephant walks a go for your lower back. Nice video by the way -
