When I was around 10 years old, I was SUPER tall for my age. My hips were (and i guess, still are) pretty big. I was struggling with self-image and insecurity. So one day, my mother took me dress shopping. Because I was so tall, and my hips were so big, I could only fit into a size 16 (remember, I was a kid, so the sizes were based on age. Afterwards, I asked my mom if I could have some of my brothers leftover birthday cake. She laughed and said no. Are you kidding me? You fit into a size 16 today. You are NOT getting any cake. I went up to my room, and cried. She apologized later, but it was the absolute wrong age to say something like that. That sentence has struck with me, and now I REALLY struggle with body image. I have vowed to never comment on my daughter's body, because that one sentence had me holding in my stomach for a whole summer. A WHOLE SUMMER! Please, if you're a mom, just sign your kid up for a sport. Don't laugh at her body, and please, PLEASE, don't say anything about sizes.

thats actually really funny since the other day i went to the mall and i saw the CUTEST dress and a size 6 didnt fit me, which is what i'd usually wear, but a size 8 did fit, amd i was so kad that i didnt even buy the dress bc i couldnt believe my size got bigger! i automatically thought i wasnt being careful w my eating and exercising which is why i didnt buy it, bc i wanted to fit in the size 6. this video is so true, and i did realize that a lot of my clothes are a size 6 and they didnt fit. the dress i was gonna buy was from karen millen, and my sister told me that even for her, her size increases only in that store: ) so thank you cassie for this video!

Let's face it.
Clothes sizing today is sloppy.
I use to buy five pieces of clothing at one time from different makers and they would all be consistent in their fit. The only reason for a dressing room was to see how it looked. NOT to see if it fitted. You knew it would fit.
Makes that whole shopping experience more stressful not having the consistent sizes.
As far as the self esteem, I would have went on a diet sooner if I didn't keep thinking I was a size 10 throughout part my thirties, when that whole vanity sizing must have grew along with my weight gain. . Gaining weight did not make me feel very esteemed.

Love this! I am short and small. I usually in pants a size 6. But every store is different you can either be the same size, smaller, or bigger size pants. Shirts I am either a small or medium, but some mediums are like dresses on me!
I am very healthy and fit but some places don't take into consideration that some women got muscle muscle weighs more than fat. I went to college for health and wellness so if anyone is concerned with your BMI if you are exercise and are fit remember muscle weighs more than fat.
If you take care of yourself and happy what you look like then its all good: )

Very rarely does anyone else see the tag inside your clothing. They only see what a clothing item looks like on your body, so it's best to get a bigger size if you need it, because all onlookers are going to see is the clothing item, not the tag. You'll be impressed with the small tag for a moment, but the appropriate sized clothing would make you happier in the long run.
I've also heard people say that it can help to cut the tag size out of clothing after you buy it if you struggle with fixating on it too often, or it effects your attitude towards clothing.

Thank you so much for this. I was going through some (old) clothes and decided to try on a pair of shorts that wouldn't even come together to zip, I got discouraged and a little upset by it to be honest. I come online to see this video in my feed like it was the universe speaking to me. This resonates with me so much and made those negative feelings actually melt away. You're totally right, I should pay attention to what fits ME and not me trying to fit it.

Please please pleaaaase make a range for bigger busted women. I have quite a small waist (band 28-30) but quite a big cup size (G-GG) and it's impossible for me to find any sports bras or clothing anywhere that 1 fit properly and 2 provide any kind of support whatsoever. Running, which I do on a regular basis, would be so much easier and more enjoyable for me if it didn't feel like my chest could rip off with every step

Hey Cassey, I'm a US size 0 up top. I noticed the survey doesn't include size 0 but some of us are crazy petite. I actually wear a 30 band size but my real band measurement is 27 and I have a 24 waist. I'm little.
Funnily enough though I bought a size 4 for the top and bottom for PopFlex and it fits really well even though I'm pear shaped and usually need to go up one size for the bottoms.
