Love this adventure even more than most of the other MA adventures. After watching almost all their videos, and watching many of them twice, I've started to realize what it is that annoys me about the MA adventure stories. The rub is how much the videos focus on the personalities of the participants. They can travel to the most spectacular mountains in the world. but most of what we get to see are the same personalities on all of those mountains. Years ago I started wondering how to be a ski bun or a climbing bum without being a narcissist. My quick take is that if you focus on the safety, health, and education of others, you might escape a narcissistic life style. By their examples the association of MA buddies are teaching us what's possible with extraordinary fitness. But we can't learn how to safely climb the Grand in one day any more than we can learn how to play basketball by watching LeBron James play basketball on television.

Climbing such a big peak and filming it while sick was impressive but being in good enough shape to climb it and not get sick would be even more impressive. I enjoy beautiful challenging climbs but if I push myself to the point of getting sick its no longer worth it, its just abusing my body. The one time I kept going even though I was sick was because I knew I wouldn't be able to get back to the area for many years, wasn't that far from the summit and really wanted the view. I suspect you were in shape to climb it without getting sick, you just needed alittle more rest between big climbs.

I've never puked on a climb but I've felt not good many many x. The only thing that tastes ANY GOOD on a hard climb for me is orange gatorade and croissants and mebber some italian sausage and / or string cheese. Otherwise I won't eat, will get too far out of the energy curve, and will crash. You did a GREAT job with very challenging conditions. Fantastic video.

In certain types of weather there are ozone warnings and with that hot sun cold mountain and elevation I dont doubt it could be lack of oxygen over exertion and lack of water definitely need to pack snacks and extra water when it's the first hot days theres like a micro climate and can technically be hotter than a summer day in my opinion

Way to go for sticking it out man! What skis were you using and whats the underfoot and length for said skis, also, which sunglasses are those? Those side shields looks nice! I just got my face charred from the sun reflection off the snow wearing some Oakleys with no side shields.

The feeling strong then weak could be a drop in Blood Oxygen. Do you carry a meter, the kind you clamp over one finger? Of course, if you're moving, it goes lower. Sit for a few minutes and it pops back up. 95 is a good read at that altitude. If it drops below 88, slow down.

Slogging up a mountain, loaded up with gear, bolting back and forth to produce a video. No wonder you're puking all over the place. You might actually be suffering from a damaged nervous system caused by previous heat injuries, like serious heat exhaustion.

Danny, you need to stop f-ing about with this overheating & vomiting issue. It happens 50% of your summer adventures. Go see a sports dietician who can work with you on your fuelling & hydration. It's a minor miracle this didn't occur on The Haute Route trip.

Dude, please take your mountain nutrition/hydration/electrolyte intake more seriously. Puking doesnt have to happen- its a symptom of mistakes made. Youre tough enough to power through it, but you dont have to do that.

I thought Moran was a technical climb any way you go? You just went up in skis? Threw up in the middle of the night before climbing Elbert and went up on nothing. Brought it all back to mind. Last 1500 ft were tough.

That was wild! I've experienced the same thing with the non-stop puking on many occasions. Only cure for me is sleep. Otherwise it gets exponentially more violent haha. Great video!

The skillet looks like an avalanche chute.
Also, were you by any chance at sea level the day before you summited Moran? The abrupt altitude change might explain the puking.

Wow, kudos as always but even more so here. Way to hold it together, good turns, and good footage! Such a different approach than Cody Townsend in The Fifty

Never has vomit looked so good. That new 360 camera really brought out the details. All in all, amazing adventure and excellent camera work. Thanks, Danny!

That was amazing. I can't believe you had the power to hike it. Personally, I wouldn't have eaten at the top. But it was worth a try lol. Nice work.
