Have no fear, the sheep pay a fee, too. The puffins, being smaller and more numerous pay a sliding fee due to their ever changing population and size. However, the puffins do pay a small 'VAT' tax if they travel from island to island depending on the size of the island and the amount of guano being deposited. The sheep excrement is disregarded due to the economic assets produced by the wool. Bring lots of money. Denmark has large bills to pay!

Loved this crash course guide on this beautiful and peaceful spot of the world. Found it to be very informative, excellent video, and well narrated with visual maps on locations and sights recommendations on hikes, costs, and weather informations, and interesting restaurants, what better way is there to explore the culture.

I am from India and i wish to visit and experience this place some day. Its probably the most beautiful place on earth.
I am specially fond of dark beaches and deep grey blue seas. Standing on one such beach would feel like standing on the edge of the world. Totally surreal.

I would never pay for Hiking. Hiking is about the freedom in nature. It s a shame the people of the Faroe Islands abusing this as a money making scheme. I ll definitely avoid the islands for the next holiday and visit north Scotland instead. Free hiking is the way to go.

Great photography. Fascinating island. I wouldn t be surprised if another Star Wars movie were filmed on those islands. The scenery is breathtaking(then, again, maybe film companies should leave these islands alone.

I have never and will never pay to hike. To me hiking represents a freedom and it is never payed for. If anyone asked for payment, I would show them my Stubai ice axe and politely ask them what they thought of it!
