As someone who has lived in Arizona for most of his life and regularly goes down to visit family in Tucson, thanks for opening my eyes up to new things! I've been watching most of your videos about Europe and Asia, but it's interesting to still learn something new about my home state.
Oh, and at my elementary school we had field trips (waking up at six in the morning and getting back at seven) to Kartchner Caverns and (waking up at three and getting back at nine or so at night) to the Grand Canyon. I don't know if that was special for my school, the district, the county, etc. but it's something I really try not to take for granted. I may hate my state's heat, but I'll admit that we can have some beautiful sites.
Oh-- I'd like to add that Mount Lemon (or however it's spelled) is really fun to go sledding and really close to Tucson. I went once as a young child and it was a nice break from the constant heat. Also the Botanical Gardens, where my uncle got married. One of the local parks has a mud festival thing I went to once. I'll stop rambling, now. :)

Mark, I've lived in Tucson for 15 years. I am from Miami Florida. It is much less expensive to live here, and more laid back. I believe you and your wife do a great job on your informational videos. My family and I travel somewhere new at least twice a year and we watch your videos months before we depart. We are traveling to Madrid and Paris in a couple of weeks and your videos have helped a lot! Pay no mind to the haters! They can't help it, they have no life and don't go anywhere, their enjoyment is putting others down. Thumbs up Brother! Hope we cross path sometime in our travels.

Just an update for 2020. Old Tucson has closed until further notice. The county has taken it over and all signs leading to it have closed signs now. Kartchner Caverns is nice but you do need to reserve tickets well in advance. The Sonoran hotdog does not have cream cheese on it. it's mayo. Tubac does have some nice artsy places but the prices are high. It's very tourist price based.

Old Tucson is a tourist gouge. Skip it. Also, downtown Tucson is no biggie. A Sonoran hotdog isnt something to see. Geez. Tombstone is another tourist gouge. Unbelievable that he didnt include Chiricahua National Monument. Its friggin amazing. No mention of Saguaro National Park or Sabino Canyon, but he includes bacon wrapped hotdogs.

i was there and the sonoran hotdog i think they need to revise it becasue apart how they give it to you a sonoran will still add more topping to it. for example: chorizo, guacamole, nacho cheese, shreded cheese and other things. i mean if you want to try a real sonoran hotdog for 45 minute and enter mexico

i've lived in Tucson all my life, and while there are some not-so-awesome things about the city (bad roads, for example) its a really awesome place and there are many fun things to do here. Might not be the best city in the world but its my home and I love it.

Compare the beginning of the video to the end to see how much darker it got in those six minutes. I feel a good monsoon coming on when the air is electrically charged.

Live there for three years, at first it was ok but not a great place to live. Its hot and slow with no opportunity in job growth. Great place to visit but just that.
