On the Go Travel Review: Osprey Meridian Carry On Backpack - Wolters World Richard: I like the Cabin Max line of products. Most can be bought for under $70. My wife uses an Osprey Porter we picked up at REI for around $125 because it was more comfortable for her than a couple options she tried from Cabin Max. We both agreed the Cabin Max product offered far more in the way of accessibility and pockets than her Osprey, but not worth a sore back if it doesn't fit well. For the Meridian, I agree $345 is bit high, to say the least. If it's comfortable to carry, you don't need wheels (they just add weight/bulk, and they suck on anything but smooth surfaces anyway. :)

Hey, what do you think about the mess with TSA here in America? It makes me not want to travel. It's funny, when I travel to Paris, for example. They seem to have things in order and moving travelers smoothly instead of raising my blood pressure and curse-word creatively to other heights. Anyway, try Lowepro backpacks, for cameras or convert to a good carry on. And pick pocket proof.

How comfortable was this as a backpack? Would love to see your wife's review. I'd also love to see how this looks on the back of a smaller woman. I'm 5'2 - maybe your wife is near that size? It would be great so see how this looks on her, and how it felt carrying it longer distances (i. e. more than 5-10 mins.
Love this review! Thank you.

I prefer the weight savings of pairing the Porter 30L + the Daylite (13L) for the same basic packing space - combined they weigh in under 4-pounds and both together cost half as much as the Meridian; granted you don't have wheels, the Porter + Daylite is only a backpack/carry-on combo.

Was looking for a review of this bag as I'm considering getting one, and who pops up, but one of my favorite travel YouTubers from THREE YEARS AGO! Ahhhh how things have changed! It's great to see the growth over the years! Oh and thanks for the honest review.

Just bought one at REI for $240. I found it on Amazon also around $240. This pack is amazing. I'm taking it to Italy at the end of the month. This will be my first time not checking a bag for a week trip. I think I can pull it off with this!

Great video. I have the much cheaper and smaller Osprey Transporter40. Very handy little carry-on pack. It's marketed as being the exact dimensions of the EU carry-on. Its soft so doesn't protect your things so well but I like it a lot

I'm looking at getting the Patagonia MLC, but was excited to see this option. until the price. Ouch! The MLC is $180 & I'm hoping to find something cheaper. Any ideas on convertible carry-ons that don't cost an arm & a leg?

I lean towards MOLLE gear, myself, particularly from the Maxpedition firm. This military-style equipment does allow you to attach and detach bags from each other, so that you can put your carry-on onto your larger bag.

Good review Mark. I don't need any new luggage but looked up the product features. The only complaint seems to be the screws on the telescoping handle. They come loose so tighten them up before your trips! Cheers.
