As I said:
- Dubrovnik language is Serbian language, because in medieval times, was inhabited by Serbs. Catholic Serbs (they existed back then, before they were assimilated to Croatian nation in XIX century.
- Serbs speaks stokavski (all Serbs, during whole history.
- Croatian language is cakavski (spoken by real Croatia, in medieval Croatia, language that medieval documents of Croats were written.
- kajkavski. is spoken predominantly by Slovenians.
We can argue about this, but those are historical facts.
And yes, today all 3 dialects are proclaimed to be in use in official Croatian language, same way (150 years ago) all Catholics who speaks serbo-croatian language, were proclaimed to be Croats (but there were many Serbs Catholics, Slovenian Catholics, assimilated Italians, Czechs, Slovaks. all Catholics.

The couple trying to enter the water was on a very tame beach. Where i go on summer vacation, the Murter island, most beaches are basically 2m of pebble, 2m of rocks, and then a literal coral reef all along the shoreline. You see adults and children sometimes climbing over the big rocks in waist deep water just to start swimming, it's perfectly normal and people who go to the same beach all the time will know all the routes between the said rocks!
Also, about the urchins, i got stung by them by picking them up more often than by walking onto them, idk when you live here you just know how to walk in water and not step on one!

When I was a teen over 25 yrs ago a Croatian couple ran a small restaurant and pool hall near my home.
I spent SO many hours there probably for a few year period. The couple that ran it were awesome. I always felt at home. Actually feeling a little homesick now remembering them. I did not like many people in my hometown but they were exceptions. I hope they are ok. I'd visit Croatia any day.

And one more thing, it's common in the world to show number 3 with index finger, middle finger and thumb stretched out while other fingers are bent. Don't do it in Croatia! Especially not in southern, eastern, northern, western and middle part of it! Believe me, just don't do it! Better use other fingers

The reason why Croatia has so weird shape is because Bosnia used to be ours and then took away by Ottomans, when we tried to return it Yugoslav communists ruined everything! And yes, don't call Croatia Yugoslavia, it's big NO NO

Quick question, I know this sounds crazy, I'm Croatian American but I DO NOT drink any alcohol I've been clean for a long time am I going to have problems there when people shove rakia in my face?

The key of forming modern Croatian nation (150 years ago) was fulfilling 2 conditions:
- to speak serb-croatian language,
- to be Catholic.

Dont remind them that in world war 2 they sided with the nazis and sent a ton of Jews and Serbians to their deaths in concentration camps and never apologized.
