Go for the smaller lobsters, they are the better ones, although it's worth going to Maine for the soft shell lobster, better than what they feed the tourists in the rest of New England. My favorite shell fish are the fried oysters and the clams casino. Also, if you find Fish Chowder, consider going with that. In Rhode Island you'll find a Manhattan Clam Chowder (it''s actually from RI) and is really good. It's pronounced frap, but these days. most places that have Milk Shakes, they are the standard ice cream variety, only if both are on the menu is there a difference, although I haven't seen a New England style milk shake in years.

Lobster, while delicious is overpriced in my opinion. You get more bang for your buck if you get clams or calamari (how did you overlook the calamari! ) I was also surprised to find out they don't have fluffernutters outside New England (you guys are really missing out) You also left out corn chowder equally delicious as clam chowder. You aslo gotta have the woodchuck granny smith hard cider. Lots of great ethnic foods here as well, especially in the urban areas. And finally the E is silent in frappe.

Only things I would add as a NE native are Moxie, the oldest commercial soda in the world (started in Lisbon Falls, Maine, and as others have noted, all the different fresh maple stuff.
Also a note on fluffernutters: while it's fine to have them raw like mentioned in the video, the next important step is to pan fry them with plenty of butter, like you would a grilled cheese. Another thing my family in particular does is to also add in a layer of Nutella. HEAVEN.

The best lobster meal I've had was in Maine at a lobster shack. You went up, ordered your lobster, were given your lobster with corn on the cob, melted butter, a wedge of lemon, bib, and utensils. Then you could either take it or sit at one of a number of picnic tables overlooking the ocean and just eat! I think they maybe had a couple of other things to order like fried shrimp or a fish of the day, but people came for the lobstah!

As soups go? I'm a sucker for French Onion. ..
. .. But New England sounds a fair bit like Scotland:
Okay, so you gotta try the Salmon. .. And then the Shetland scallops. .. And the west coast mussels. .. And um. .. Something not from the sea. ..
In fairness, we then have Venison, Aberdeen Angus beef, Scotch lamb & then their is Haggis! Haggis is amazing!

Can't talk about lobster rolls without declaring your preference between Connecticut style and Maine style. Connecticut is my favorite but I do love both. Ughh, lobster Mac n Cheese makes me. It's tasty for sure but it got way too trendy in the '90s and just about every steakhouse in the country featured it. Fun food video!

Im from CT and agree to disagree on frappe. Frappe is an iced coffee mixture. If I got a milkshake that was not thick with ice cream Id start another revolution, and I dont know anyone who drinks seltzer without adding spirits to it. Sam Adams beer

Actually I have to correct you (at least about New Hampshire. The liquor stores in this state sell liquor and wine only, not beer. Beer (and wine) you can get at pretty much anywhere.

Ya definately gotta add Moxie to the drink list! I'm a yinzer, but I was raised in NE and every once in a while I have to go to the one store in Pitt that sells Moxie to get a fix.

Great video guys! You're both very affable, knowledgeable and fun to watch. I lived in Mass. for about five years and miss the seafood and great beer most of all. Enjoy your travels!
