I love Avignon for a festival location. I've been in Avignon for both the national music festival and the theater festival, and enjoyed them more than I have in other cities in France. Also, the square (it's more of a rectangle) in front of the the Pope's Palace has had seemingly organized street performances all day and into the evening every time I've visited, with 3 different types of performances happening at the same time, and changing out at regular intervals, with the only cost being donations to the hat placed in front by each performer or group.

I was born in Avignon, thank you for your review, I love my city, but you forgot the University of Avignon, which was before st Marthe hospital I was born there. The Sainte-Marthe hospital was founded by a lawyer, Bernard Rascas, in 1353. Entrusted to the Trinitarians from its creation, it became, from the 15th century, the main hospital in Avignon. The Sainte-Marthe hospital closed definitively in 1994, and the buildings is now Avignon University.

One time a friend asked for tips for Antibes, here I loved for a while.
I spent hours writing my favorite addresses, writing tips, best food everything.
HE FREAKING PARKED OUTSIDE THE CITY. TOOK A PICTURE AND HAD THE AUDACITY OF SAYING HE VISITED THE CITY.
I never feel more annoyed at my life. What's wrong with exploring?
That's de difference between turists and travelers my friend. He wasted a great oportunity

When I first travelled to Avignon a was just planing to do a day trip and then leave at night to Dijon. I tried to find a place lo leave my luggage, but there were not. I dont know if this is common in France.
As a result, I had to explore the city with my luggage. Luckily, it wasnt a large one.

I loved Avignon, it is a truly beautiful city and the people were really nice to me and my friends. My friends and I played like the French version of Ring Around the Rosie on the bridge.

Happy to see you love France! You should go to Brittany (Bretagne) places like Locronan are frozen in medieval times and the region has a Celtic flavor (place of birth of crepes)

Fun fact, Gustave Eiffel was part of the architechcts in charge of pope palace renewing. If you look carefully you will find a gargoyle handing a small Eiffel Tower inside.
