All the catfish buffets shutdown except the ones that want $20+ dollars. A sad time in the history of Arkansas is when they started shutting down. Used to you could eat all the catfish and fixins you wanted for $7 in the 1980s. I don't know where to eat out now. My favorite catfish buffet quit making it all you can eat and now it's 1plate of 2 filets and the fixings for $14. Now restaurants are all chain burger or chain steak. italian or mexican joints for $14 to $25/plate. they even shut down the The Dixie Cafe(2 filets for $9 something plus rolls and 2 sides. Where is an Arkansan to go now for great food? I now order fast food on my phone apps. pathetic! Everything will be more $ next year. Build Back Better needs a $10 mandatory all you can eat catfish buffet to be built in LR by the Federal Gov. if they're going to spend trillions I believe they can start feeding us good food for a reasonable price! The Dems can do one thing right for all the wrong!

Awesome video and thanks for the positivity for our state! Only thing I will say is that NWA Is Midwest/southern, however southern and eastern Arkansas are most certainly not Midwestern. Very southern in culture and more similar to East Texas, North Louisiana and Mississippi, but most tourist dont travel to those parts of the state lol. I was born in southern AR and grew up in LR. North Arkansas Is very different from central southern and eastern AR.

Here a shock don't drive 70 in the straight part of the road if you can't take a curve like a person from Arkansas. If you not use to the cuves that fine but don't be a jerk and not like people pass you but slow down so much for the curves. And just so you know that if the speed limit is 55 and the recommended speed for the curve is 50 that not a curve is a dip in the road you don't even have to slow down in a normal vehicle.

Charlie Lucky Luciano was hiding out in Hot Springs and on April 3, 1936 he was arrested and eventually extradited back to New York where he was prosecuted by Dewey and sentenced to 50 years in prison.
Former Cotton Club NYC owner Owney Madden had left NY and relocated to Hot Springs and turned it into a gambling mecca that welcomed mobsters and gave them a place to hide out. Al Capone was a regular visitor to the city.

Spent 2 days driving Ozarks down to Texarkana through the back roads! wow! Arkansas truly shocked me. We drove from Texas up to Oklahoma and east into the Ozarks. the landscape flipped to beautiful hills, winding roads. roads were clean and smooth. People drove sensibly, sticking to speed limits, nice little towns in the national forests! I am surely coming up here every spring and autumn.

You forgot to mention all the Meth heads all over the state and they cook their own stuff. Was so glad to leave the state I'm from it does have some nice wood areas but nutjob people all over. Hot Springs is a tourist trap big time.

Yellville is a beautiful little town. Not sure if you had the chance to go to Cotter over the rainbow bridge or to Buffalo City, but those are my two favorite places. I was born and reared in Mountain Home.

Nice video! I was surprised that Fort Smith was never mentioned. It is one of the largest cities in AR. It might not be the most prestegious but I love living here! And I am a Dutch immigrant.

Arkansas not southern? Those are fighting words! Never been to northwest Arkansas, but I was raised in south Arkansas on the Louisiana line and if that aint southern I dont know what is.

Looks like no bustles and hustles, unlike in the big cities. I find it to be a nice romantic state people who love peace and serenity. Love it. - from the Philippines
