Bring an insulated water bottle with a big enough mouth to put ice cubes inside. Bring long sleeve sun shirts aka rash guards. The locals use this instead of sun screen. Bring facial reef safe sun screen, don't miss out on the butterfly observatory, if you are driving into key west get your local and snorkel gear at scuba outlet in key largo. Plan your days in the keys by the wind forecast. Lower wind speed days you want to be on the water and higher winds have fun on land.

We always fly into Ft. Lauderdale and then drive to the Keys. We stay in Marathon (cheaper) but drive to KW and other keys from there. They also have local bus service if one is daring. I also recommend Lobster season (if they still have that, we haven't been there in 4-5 years. We love the keys. The Gulf Stream at night, during optimal conditions, is quite the show out on the water. Nice video and information!

Local here and I endorse this video! You had me cracking up with the conch reference. When I hear someone say it wrong, I ask, oh, where are you from?
I also tell people I moved to Key West because I no longer wanted to live in Florida. So, another great reference you made there.

ahhh the bull whistle bar first ground floor regular fun bar second floor topless bar. not much going on there the top floor is roof top clothes optional now that was fun spent my bday in mky bdat suit for several hours just hanging out even got my girlfriend at the time to jump in topless. lol crazy key west times.

The conch shack on Duval is my spot the fish sandwich is to die for lol. I recently purchased an ebike to ride when I go there bikes are the best way to get around the island. I'm glad I only live about a 100 miles from key west it's great getaway for me from Miami to have some fun and just relax

I have another dont for youDont go in the water near southernmost point hotel The water looks disgusting at least when I visited. I also can tell in this video that the water still looking disgusting Also the hotel was overpriced and they advertise a beachfront room & it is not a beach.

My first trip there was last summer pulled my boat down there for a week and decided to take the kids into key west rode around for 2 hours trying to fine a place to park didn't happen didn't help that we were driving a excursion

I've been to Key West 3 times, and did the drive! However DO NOT DO IT ON FRIDAY! LOL It took us forever because we arrived at the bridge to Key Largo at 4: 30 pm, and it was awful! I'm sure any other time it's fine!

On the east side is my favorite bar and grill that specializes in hogfish. Hogfish bar and grill. 12/10 was so good. I miss it. Can't wait to go back
