We traveled to Bel-m, Northern Brazil in February 2020 and found this HUGE market on the shores of the Amazon River. We absolutely didn't expect to find such exotic fish and such wild 'love' potions

I visited Vero Peso market too when I was in Belem! The fresh acai in the morning is GOALS! We came to see the feira do acai in the wee morning (about the same time as the fish, quite intimidating as a group of -gringos-, but seeing the BUCKETS of acai being unloaded. you know as much as I do what it takes to harvest that stuff, it's IMPRESSIVE to see hundreds of buckets being traded at the port! And makes you appreciate those acai bowls way more back home indeed! My favorite treat was fresh cupuacu juice and cupuacu ice cream, and the small white pineapples that melt in your mouth! If you ever go back, or to anyone reading, Andiroba oil is used as a mosquito repellent (and anti-inflammatory properties, and it's pretty effective! xD Doesn't smell as bad as most mosquito repellent stuff! You can find it at the markets all over Para, I also saw it online on a website called Rainforest Chica. These women know their stuff! Andiroba oil contains some of the same compounds we find in citrus-based mosquito repellents, limonoids, just a different kind scientists identified and called andirobin. Science is catching up to them! At least on the mosquito stuff, the love potions I'm not convinced. (they are probably just basic local aphrodisiacs, to be generous! lol)
Also, if you visit the Amazon region again, make sure to hop to Santarem, and the nearby Alter do Chao, for some of the nicest, most gorgeous and vibey, white sand, fresh water beaches in the world! Just make sure you're there in the dry season, we went during peak wet season, and all we saw were -tiki hut- roofs poking out of the water and a few meters of beach. xD And Santarem has it's lesser well known -separation of the waters- where the Rio Tapajos meets the Amazon (like in Manaus, where the Rio Negro also meets the Amazon. The reason for the separation is that the -black- waters from the Tapajos and Rio Negro run through older geological formations that have already eroded, whereas the Amazon picks up lots of silt and debris and nutrients from its source in the Andes, a much younger, still growing geological formation. That's why its waters are white. The dark, silt-poor waters are not the same density as the Amazon, and so when it meets the silt-rich, white Amazon, it creates this demarcation that you can see and sail through. The same thing happens between the Atlantic and Pacific, and at the mouth of certain rivers and the Ocean. It's pretty cool to see!

Soooo. It-s not specific to this video, but a overall looking of the things you post on your social medias are quite. narrow minded. I often see you saying this like strange, bizarre, weird and looking at things like they are from another planet and even if that is different to what you are used to (damn, you are American, only used to material stuff) it doesn-t mean is bizarre, weird or strange.
You can have traveled to every single country in the world but it doesn-t mean you have really lived the culture and the good environment. I know plenty of people that visits the place, and doesn-t LIVE the place. You should know by now to be totally open to see and try different things without judgement, but you look like every other american/European that I-ve met. They have been to places, but they don-t KNOW the places.
I hope that people don-t see this as pure hate, I am definitely criticizing her ways and attitudes but it-s just a reflection of how the word is perceived by these people and how traveling the world is much more about. MUCH MORE

Lexie, I was thrilled to see the way you visited Brazil! As a brazilian, I feel so damn happy to see tourists from around the world visiting my country in a different way, going after all the pearls we have hidden instead of visiting the same old crowded places. I am thankfull to you for showing our country in this amazing way on Youtube. The way you see and understand travel and cultures is amazing. Total respect for your work and completely inspired!
(Hope to see you come visit Brazil again)

8: 47 was my favorite part. The kid seemed so genuinely nice and his smile was so cute! Maybe I'm underestimating the kindness people can possess in this world. I hope I learn to be this outgoing as I continue to grow, because, as of now, as a kid, I'm so shy and I can't think of opening up to people I've just met, in a different COUNTRY, without feeling uncomfortable and nervous. I hope that changes soon

Glad the title changed from -Most Exotic- -cough- Americans to -strangest- but you could have just called it -most unique- or choose other word from the dictionary. a word that potentially doesn't call something so natural and beautiful -strange-. As a world traveller, I really expect you to know how to respect people's culture

Hey, I don't know if you reply to comments, but if you ever get the time and do, How much do you think it would cost in total, to travel to every country in the world? (Consider that you've been to no country at all, and start in the United States) Do you think it would be possible to accomplish it with a million dollars?

Haha I didn't like canchaca very much either! But got to try a local one in Paraty, called Gabriela, and it was made with all these spices! So much better! Can't wait to see more of your videos- It is the perfect way to get away while staying safe at home, until we can travel again--

Well done video. Great music and audio. Are you trying to entertain or teach? Why can-t you do both? I think if you focus on the education your natural term will keep us entertained. Best of luck on a long road you have chosen.

Could you do a video about like personal hygiene when you travel for a really long time? Like that may sound weird, but like how do you take care of your skin? Do you use all the same products as you would at home?

I have noticed that even tough you are a world record holder having traveled to each country in the world you are quite choosey. You usually don't like new things.
