So good watching you eat durians! Here are my durian stories! Whilst in queue to pay for my shopping in John Lewis Oxford Street, basement, everyone had to leave as they thought 'some leak coming from above'! Earlier on same store different level, in the lift, a well heeled moustached man turned to his son in school uniform asking 'have you stood on something, son'! On Piccadilly line, sitting/facing me, was a long haired girl who kept lifting her hair on both sides to smell, made a face and walked off! Though they were 3 X wrapped/in sealed shopping trolley, smell permeated. Holiday on Tioman island in 1994, enjoying BBQ from the restaurant when suddenly waiters ran out, we thought where is 'the fire'! They ran up the hill cos durians were falling from strong winds! We were gifted a delicious one! TQ Mark and Ying for your lovely videos

So I just bought my first Durian. I-m in Texas by the way. The first smell from it was a faint melon like sweet smell that I thought was wonderful. Going home it did have a bit more of a wafting smell like that of a mild fart & gym socks but nothing really bothersome, at least to me. It never lost that sweet smell though. When I opened it, it smelled the same to me & the fruit was nice & soft. The taste was unique but not bad. Something I could definitely get used to. It tasted like lightly sweet honeydew melon with a hint of vanilla, a hint of avocado with a mellow oniony taste. Maybe some people are just more sensitive to these smells but me, I-m just fine with durian. I think they ought to go ahead & sell it in regular grocery stores. Durian is definitely a fruit that seems extremely versatile & could be used in sweet or savory dishes.

Love this video! First time I could try durian was in New York-s Chinatown, was freshly cut there and I eas curious but only tried small amounts. A years later found some in London, I enjoyed it a lot more. Now I found a lovely little shop in my town (Brighton, UK, where they sell them packed up and frozen. It lost most of the smell of the shell by the freezing and it is the best I had. Expensive here in Europe, but such a great treat once in a month. Love it! (I-m also in that circle who lives Marmite and raisins lol)

There's no way that every single food you've ever eaten that I've watched you seem to think that they're all delicious I've never seen you one time say that what you tried was gross or you wouldn't eat it again and I'm sorry but there's no way that there is one guy in this world and there's no way it's you that loves everything that you try and it's absolutely delicious I mean you seem like a good guy positive but even Andrew Zimmerman had things that he didn't like or would just disgusting so I don't buy it

Hey Mark, Thai durians are inferior than the Malaysian variety. Thais are good in making the flesh thicker and fruit bigger. They good in marketing but the fruit sucks! It taste more acidic and smells bad. Consume half of durian, and you get morning wood-
My favourite is Durian Tembaga from Malaysia. But the king is Musang King. Even Thai are planting enmass as the China market wanted this and not Thai Muthong. Don't take with heavy liqueur. You'll die when the body overheat!

Smells like onion and garlic? Starchy? Is this a fruit or vegetable? I think I had some of the second, funky shape, sorta whitish flesh, not yellowish, smell like onion, creamy blandness. Not impressed. Still trying to understand the asian facination with durian. What makes it good for you or other Thai. Smell like socks? You are not exciting me about this!

I want to try one, rarely see 'em. Did have a pal bring me some durian-flavored gum. As close as I've been. The fibrous flesh reminds me of mangoes-which I love and get plenty of. I love their complex flavors and realize that they have a wide world of varieties much like the durian.

Durian looks so similar to the Jack fruits we get in India. They're soooo delicious and the aroma just fills the entire neighborhood. The only difference is Jack fruits are less spiky and weigh between half a kilo to up to 10 kgs. Definitely fruits from heaven!

I just can not understand why many people don't like durian. IT IS SWEEEEEEET AND DELICIOUS. Please eat the FRESH one. Don't eat the EXPORTED DURIAN.
IF YOU EAT DURIAN AND IT IS NOT SWEET, THEN THE DURIAN IS NOT GOOD DURIAN. YOU ARE CHEATED BY THE SELLER.
