Winter Camping in Subzero Temperatures - Mohican State Forest 4K - AdventureArchives
video description
We live close to Cleveland and we've been backpacking in Mohican for years year-round. We go there constantly, it never gets old. Winter camping has always been my favorite out there because the silence and scenery is unmatched, and no bugs! I'm happy to see you guys enjoyed a nice sunny morning, those seem to be very common when camping in Mohican!

I know you guys were right there and it's not very likely to happen, but you should never put a closed container of fluid near a fire. If for any reason that bottle of oil was in the fire pit a moment too long, you might be looking at glass shrapnel wrecking your day. Oil burns aren't fun either. It would be like a scene from the Final Destination movies. Just take the cap off and you'll be fine, assuming the frozen plug in the neck allows the release of pressure.

Mohican is only 40 minutes from me, so hike it at least weekly, including the snowy days. Kuhl (sold at REI) has water repellent hiking pants. I normally don-t make suggestions to other backpackers, but wet pant legs in that kind of cold weather can be kinda uncomfortable at best and downright dangerous at worst. Love your vids, especially the really unusual foods you prepare while at camp. Lots of great ideas!

I hope you see this! But last year this time it was rough for me. I was basically bed-ridden with anxiety and panic attacks. I was playing Adventure Archives on loop and it truly helped me. The positivity, the beauty of nature and camaraderie, and the sense of progression helped me through those struggles. From the bottom of my heart, thank you SO much. Your art helped me through my darkest days.

What you saw was a 'dry dam'. It has no lake behind it, except when there is flooding downstream (in Coshocton. Then, it fills with water behind it, forming a temporary lake. It's designed as a lake during flooding, but used as recreational park during dry weather. It is quite an awesome thing to see, in person. I drove across the dam, before.

This one is definitely a favorite of mine. I am a new college professor and have to spend a lot of time making my lectures from scratch, so love throwing these videos on in the background to pass the time. Relaxing yet invigorating to take in all the awesome scenery. And seeing how cold you guys were really made me appreciate my office lol.

Great trip. I did a winter camp a couple of years ago and it got down to 6f and I was fine. This year the low temp was projected to be 6f but it turned out to be 0f. Sleeping was OK but being outdoors was a real challenge. Went through a lot of fire wood. Note at below 10f my Bic lighter did not work. Thank goodness for fire steel.

Ya'll really could have found some snowshoes handy possibly. They might have helped you conserve some energy hiking through all that snow, every painstaking footstep, paying attention to every single step. My back feels for your back. But seriously, this park is absolutely amazing. Incredible winter beauty for sure ---

I was just there, during the last week of March. I spent the day hiking at Mohican Memorial State Forest and Mohican State Park.
The covered bridge is an essential part of Mohican State Park, just like the fire tower is an essential part of Mohican Memorial Forest.

Sasquatch made the Teepee. They do this & is often found in woods that are very active with Sasquatch Signs.
That's if you believe in Bigfoot?
For myself, I do.
Btw, Love your Hiking Videos. Your ALL very amazing & really enjoy being on your trips!
