Yeah, my old family home is getting painted during this summer which means everyone who lives here will be out for two weeks & we decided on taking a small, close to home vacation during that time to the coast, we live an hour in a half away from Seaside so it's a popular easy vacation destination for people where I live. I have a feeling when we decide to go, it's going to be packed with people from where we live due to the limited vacations that can be had this summer but we did discuss alternatives, Seaside is overrated anyways. We were talking about potentially going to Lincoln City, that's typically a fun trip, we use to go every summer. We're also thinking about driving on through Depoe Bay, there's this really cool spot where the waves come crashing up & it's fun standing in the splash zone, I've been soaked watched the waves before. There's a lot of beautiful scenery we can observe from the car if there's restrictions so I wouldn't be too bummed if a lot of the places by the beach are closed down. For anyone close enough, Oregon coast is a fun trip. I was so looking forward to visiting Alaska which was something I started planning with my mom over a year ago, I didn't want to travel alone & couldn't afford it either so my mom & I were working together to save up & plan the trip but then she was laid off in January before all this happened so we discussed things & decided that Alaska might have to wait another year to happen & when news about the virus was coming out, we decided to definitely postpone the trip a year which sucks, I live in Oregon & have been to California, Washington, & Hawaii, Alaska was the last one I needed to mark off to visit all US states touching the pacific ocean. Safe travels to everyone considering traveling this summer, hope you all are able to take a trip, even if it's a small one, I'm looking forward to visiting a beach, not sure if my family decided where exactly but I am holding onto hope that we go to Lincoln City, Depoe Bay, & potentially even drive to Newport if we have the time, I'd love to see the seals again.

Anyone resident in Canada is allowed to travel at least to Quebec, Ontario, Saskatchewan, Alberta and BC because the most populated parts of those provinces don't have mandatory quarantine orders other than for anyone returning from outside Canada. Residents of Manitoba, territories and Atlantic provinces may have to quarantine for 14 days upon return from elsewhere in the same country, with the same quarantine order applying to anyone else eligible to enter any of those 8 subnational entities. I plan to travel only to those provinces that don't have mandatory quarantine orders until the national quarantine order is sufficiently eased (from a mandatory 14-day quarantine unless an essential worker to a looser restriction such as if a traveller:
- has covid or another severe communicable disease such as TB
- is arriving directly from a country or territory known to have a severe outbreak of covid, TB or an equally severe communicable disease
- has, within the past certain # of days, visited a country or territory known to have a severe outbreak of covid, TB or an equally severe communicable disease)

It seems quite complicated. For instance Delta and United both have flights going from the states to Amsterdam (a major European hub. The Netherlands says they aren't letting in US citizens though. Is there some special stamp on your passport that says you're an essential worker? That would be even more complicated because two countries might have different definitions of essential workers. I've heard the Czech Republic might keep their borders closed for a full year. Delta has flights on their schedule from PDX (my home airport) direct to AMS but they are up to $500 more expensive than pre-covid. American Airlines seems a mess because so many flights are running full yet they claim to be running flights at 50% to encourage social distancing. Also some reports have both American Airlines and United going belly up into bankruptcy. Lufthansa from what I've heard has been taken over by the German government.

Up until March 13th, I was a tour guide. And then, our owner told us all the news; We were closing our doors forever.
I'm asking y'all, please don't cancel your travel plans. Reschedule them. We in the industry are truly hurting and not just financially. I personally feel like my dreams have died and at 51, I just can't bear to start over.
For me, its my passion. Its not just a job. I'm part teacher, part comedian, part historian, part local buddy who can point you to the restaurants and lesser known activities you won't see unless someone tells you. Maybe my job isn't essential, but I make your vacation better.
Most of us don't have insurance. Most of us are independent and can't get unemployment. I'm one of the lucky ones who can.
So please, keep traveling. Locals always complain about tourists but the fact is, everyone should be s tourist, even if you're only going one city away.

I live in Spain and slowly everything is opening up. They are not requiring a 14 day quarantine starting in July. We are all impatient and can't wait to get back to our lives but there is still no vaccine or treatment. So, if you travel you have to be willing to take the risk of getting sick. I know the Spanish government does not want to get stuck or overwhelmed with health care for foreigners, so make sure your travel insurance is very good.

Was due to take the trip of a lifetime to Rio De Janeiro this June, I was so excited my first long haul flight.
Currently negotiating refunds/credit
Hopefully in 2021 it can happen.
Thankfully I live in Europe and a lot of my neighbor nations are opening for tourists again this year. Iceland is looking like an option because no quarantine and a test is given on arrival.
Either that or a staycation in Ireland lol

It depends on where you're going. It looks like much of Mexico and the Caribbean in opening up in July, but vary regarding dates and entry requirements. Europe, Asia, Africa, and South America might not be opening up for a little while. Ultimately, most countries are going to try to find a balance for tourism and public health, because COVID is a very serious illness, but tourism is vital to a lot of economies

In early February I booked a $6500 trip to Rome for my wife and me (from Miami) for travel in September. It was booked through Expedia and they won't take any calls from anyone not traveling within the next week. So all I can do is keep my fingers crossed. The hotel is non-refundable. Learned my lesson about NOT booking a non-refundable hotel again.

Right now, I'm doing a lot of window shopping and dreaming. I'm trying to keep up on the updates, and as travel starts to become more regular, I'll spend a fair amount of time listening to how the new normal for traveling is (pros and cons. Then I'll be able to gauge whether it's worth the hassle or not before booking a major trip.

I have a question. I'm a greek citizen studying in canada. I'm looking to visit my family in Greece. I've done a ton of research and honestly it's useless so does anyone know if I can get in my country since I'm a citizen and then be able to go back to Canada since I have a study permit? Thank you
