Take all that praise with a grain of salt, e. g. free education. Yes, it is free, but there is not one country in Europe in which your heritage matters more. 95 % of children from parents with an academic background also go to university. Less then 3 % of working class children manage that jump into higher education. The system is heavily rigged in Germany to favour old money.

I have been to Germany many times and I never tire of it. The rivers, mountains, lakes, the wines, castles, beer halls, autobahns, history. You can depend on schedules to be right. I love the Christmas Markets as multi generations play together. Nice!

I hv travelled Germany -- and stayed -4months. Very nice place. Germans are punctual and try to be perfect in all areas and in all aspects. They are caring and respect others. I don-t find garbage, it is clean and beautiful country. I love it -

I was a German till I met an Irish girl who was very unhappy in Germany because nobody was smiling, we married and moved to Canada. Best move we ever made. Christof in Toronto
