Watch this video to experience a Polar Express train to the Arctic Circle in Finland! We ll travel from Helsinki to Rovaniemi in order to visit Santa Claus. This is the REAL LIFE Polar Express in Finland called the Santa Claus Express. It's a special offering of the famous Lapland Express where we'll visit Finland's Lapland! This 500 mile trip will take us 12 hours through some of the most magnificent scenery in the Northern Hemisphere! Lapland has been home to Santa Claus for centuries and our final destination, directly on the Arctic Circle, is his official headquarters! Along the way, we ll tour the VR Rail Upstairs Sleeper Room. It s like a hotel room on rails, complete with its own bathroom and shower! We ll also sample the food in the Restaurant Car. But, the best part has to be the scenery we ll wake up to on the train! It is truly breathtaking. We even saw eight tiny reindeer! But, can we find the Big Man himself? Our train journey will end with a visit to the Santa Claus Village in Lapland, Finland. That s Santa s official headquarters where we hope to put in a good word for you!

What an enthousiastically delivered video, thanks again! I estimate you as people who don't stay in one place for long. I was about to say: Ah, since you're in Europe at the moment, try out the brand new Night Jet train. This new trainset of the Austrian Railways will serve the connection from Hamburg to Vienna and Innsbruck (vv. But helas, the new European timetables is valid from december 10th. Most likely you will have left Europe by then.

That is amazing. I am so happy you made this video. almost every morning as part of my routine I check out certain live web cameras around the world. Santa Claus village is one of them. I knew I wanted to visit someday. Now because of your video I want to go and have my kids experience this trip. Also want to stay at the Glass Resort next to Santa Claus Village. Thank you for all of your amazing videos.

There's no better way to travel than by train! I wish all countries would invest more in them as an alternative to air travel.
Although if you find yourself in Finland or Sweden, you should definitively try out the ferries! It's like a little mini luxury cruise. Very affordable and popular pastime in both counties. In the summer they also have trips out to the bigger islands in the Baltic.

Helsinki is a wonderful station. The trains in Finland were good, and the people were friendly and helpful. After Finland I took the overnight ferry from Helsinki to Stockholm. That's also a wonderful adventure you should put on your list if you haven't already done it.
What do I want for Christmas? Mesimarija -- a Finnish liqueur made from Arctic Red Berries.

Ask Santa Response: My wife's recovery from a massive stroke she had 1 week before her birthday around Thanksgiving. Sorry to be a downer but that's the best gift I could get this year. Keep the content coming, as a co-creator on GenXGrownUp, I understand the struggle but your videos certainly help bring smiles in difficult times. Thanks.

Amazing trip. We spent a week in Tromso (Norway) in 2017, chasing northern lights and it was magical experience. There is something awe inspiring about these northern countries in winter. A true winter wonderland! And let me guess, you re asking Santa for a time piece to add to your extensive collection! I sure am asking for one!

You people are CrAzY. fun! Here's your bed Jeb. a little circular there but hey, free bottle of water, or did it have a 4 Euro sign on it? LOL
Here is a suggestion. maybe let Suzanne do some more of the narration? Jeb gets a bit excited when doing too much talking. haha, that's a compliment Jeb. but take a break. Haha.

A LEGO Concorde set for me please. Not that I have room to display it but still.
Oh and given that you say that Helsinki is the northernmost million person city station I wounder if Stockholm (My hometown ) is more south or not? Despite I can recomend the ferry travel between Stockholm and Helsinki. Its epic. J.

We did this trip (by air) in August 1998 to see the Big Guy! It was an amazing time as we were there when it wasn't busy and spent almost a half hour speaking with Santa. Saw Santa this summer in North Pole, AK. I think he had gotten up on the wrong side of Mrs Claus that day! Nowhere near as magical.

Love the trip! But remember- the farthest northernmost world capitol is Helsinki. There are big cities closer to the Arctic Circle than Helsinki! I ve been to some of them- and they are even colder than what you experienced! I hope you all got to enjoy the northern lights!

We do love the very north of Scandinavia and have been several times (12) there, so once we stopped at the Santa Village out of curiosity, too. From there on when passing by I mysteriously don't find the brake pedal for this giant tourist trap! Same as North Cape.

What a fun trip! Love the Santa hat. I was almost in Helsinki last month (for a figure skating competition) but decided against going. What a lovely country. Thanks for bringing us along on your adventures! Merry Christmas!

Thank you for the lovely video, Jeb and Susan I love the energy and positive attitude in all of your travel videos. Did you know that on the 8th of December, we Finns celebrate the Day of Independence of our beloved Finland?

Having a room nearer to the front is there more of a rumbling sound (from the engine) compare to the rear of the train? Like flying, sitting behind the jet motors is not as quiet has sitting in the front.

I miss the long Jeb Brooks videos. Not that I'm complaining, but I have a routine of eating while watching your uploads, and now can't get through a meal before your video unexpectedly ends.

Dont know about you guys out there but santa lives at the North Pole and not in Finland. Mummy lives in Finland and Finlandia Vodka: )

We rode last year and had a really good time. We did the train up and Air France back. Made the mistake of trying to connect from CDG to Gare du Nord 15 minutes after France lost the World Cup!

Awesome trip! Jeb, if I remember correctly, you started the year with a trip to the South Pole and now finish with a trip to the North. Wishing you and Suzanne the best in 2024!
