The only airline I will ever fly is Southwest. My mom booked me on a US Airways roundtrip flight one time and I told her never again! Both coming and going to and from my destination the planes BARELY landed before the engines quit. Heading to my destination we at least made it to our gate before the engines quit but then when it came time to leave as soon as we landed at home the engines quit before we got to the gate. I've tried flying Delta before but they tend to discriminate against those of us with disabilities and made me purchase a ticket for one of their employees to fly with me in case of an emergency despite me telling them that wasn't needed. Whether I can walk or not should not mean that I will be forced to purchase another ticket for someone else to fly with me when I'm more than capable of taking care of myself. Trust me in the case of an emergency I am fast when it comes to escaping something.

Jeb, that was a great video! I found your comparisons quite helpful and practical. Thanks! I love Southwest, but the current boarding process stresses me. I have one friend that likes it, but the majority of us will probably choose to fly southwest more with the change. I'm thrilled about JetBlue. I haven't flown with them yet, but have a flight booked with them for my mum and me from London to Orlando. You truly put my mind at ease about their seats and service. Brilliant! Though I'm a travel size female, I think I'll probably pass on Breeze. It looked pretty tight. Maybe if it's a REALLY low price, I'd reconsider. Thanks again!

I flew with Breeze for the first time around Xmas from Pittsburgh to New Orleans.
It was the same type of plane but it didn't have chargers or special device try tables.
The plane is so small that I felt every bump during the two hour flight.
I would have thought such a short flight would be cheap, but it was just the opposite.
Breeze was the only airline to offer a direct flight.
I would have never visited NOLA if I had to make a stopover to get there.
Jet Blue is good too. I wouldn't hesitate to start flying Jet Blue internationally with or without Mint.

I fly Breeze frequently. I’m 1K on United, but Breeze is way less expensive. I only fly business class. Breeze is waaaay better than United. I can fly direct to Orlando, LA, Vegas, and Tampa. The Captains are all very experienced and come from the major airlines. Wi-Fi is spotty for now. The service is outstanding. The schedule is not frequent enough for business travels though. They are being conservative to ensure they don’t go bust by overreaching. The A220 is one of the most beautiful airplanes ever. I give it a 9/10.

9: 24 - 9: 26 There has to be something awe inspiring seeing an A380 even from that distance that seeing it on a YT video cannot convey.
I'll never forget one summer, going to Long Beach NY, to the beach with my Sister. Between digging a hole (And cutting up my hands to hell and back - forgot sand was so abrasive, for some reason 0_o, swimming, and goofing around I got distracted by watching traffic flying into JFK, when I got to see an A380 in person. watching it fly overhead going into JFK was unreal.

I would never have flown Breeze or Southwest but this video makes them seem not so bad!
Anyway, my favorite airline USED to be Delta but they barely feed you anymore on short flights, on long flights (5 or more hours) you might get a meal. I am siding with American because they feed you and also United because they also feed you. Food matters! United also upgraded me to a REAL first class and a $500 credit which I'll definitely use after I volunteered to give up my seat.

Haha, I thought I was the only person that got SWA A group boarding and made a beeline for 21A! I like it because on the -7 and -8s it’s almost to the back of the plane (survivability, it’s got two windows (depending on model, and I’m not sitting over the fuel tanks. I also enjoy their wifi because you can have a running text conversation with ppl in real time.
Safe travels to you and Suzanne, and looking forward to your next adventure!

It sucks that Southwest is doing away with open seating.
I am visually impaired so therefore I get to pre-board so therefore usually I'm first or second in line depending on how many other people are pre-boarding.
Whenever I'm in the boarding area, I always try to look for one lucky person to select as my pre-board partner since they allow me to take one person with me when pre-boarding whether they have a disability or not.

I feel like paying for boarding position on southwest was against the spirit of the video. Their boarding style is the most polarizing loved or hated thing for southwest. I personally can’t stand it because at this point unless you are a business traveler you have to pay or you will get late B to C everytime even if you check in on the dot. Used to be a southwest die hard but it’s getting really hard to justify the cost for experience.

I had a chance to go cross-continent and back on Breeze via an A220. Really loved it. Flew the extra leg room out and ascent on the way back. Honestly, if you can get an exit row on the extra leg room, it's better than ascent. I loved the A220 product and it was one of the better flights I can remember being on. I just haven't had the chance to fly them again but I have a credit with them, maybe I'll do it soon

I've been flying on SWA for a very long time. I for one am looking forward to having assigned seats. Right now, it's okay if you are by yourself or wioth one other person, but if you travel with a family of 4 chances are you're going to have to split up. not too bad but I don't want a 9 year old to have to sit by themselves next to strangers and that has happened. That's my take on the open seating policy.

Thank you so much for this. The issue we have as flyers is my husband is 6’6 and I am 5’10 and those seats. although you have room, HE DOESNT anymore for his knees and then people recline etc. He can’t use his tray table, so he uses mine. It is frustrating. We now fly first class everywhere and have to upgrade on Southwest to get the earlier A numbers. It is very costly over all to fly for us.

We flew breeze from Hartford to Fort Myers and JetBlue for the trip back last February. The only thing I liked about breeze was the 220 2/3 seating so my wife and I can sit together and get up with no issues. I didn’t like that literally everything was extra, even soda. We’ll most likely stick to JetBlue in the future, we especially like the in seat entertainment/info screen.

I have flow Southwest (aka Southworst) and Frontier - NEVER again. I stick to the legacy carriers in the USA. Southwest made me feel like I’m a cattle being herded to slaughter. Witt Frontier there is ZERO customer experience and they have zero care for anyone on board. The fact that they’re going to assigned seats is no surprise. Plus their staff is horrifying bad.

West coast guy. Once JetBlue left Long Beach airport for LAX I stopped flying on them up and down the west coast. I fly southwest, Alaska and United out of SoCal regional airports. Avoid LAX at all costs. If I’m going to Japan or fareast I would rather make a connection in SFO or Seattle than venture into LAX. I can travel directly to Hawaii from LGB And Ont.

I have been on Breeze twice, once from SDF to CHS and the inaugural flight from EVV to MCO which was a great experience. On both round trips i had the Acent seats on one flight and the extra legroom seat on the other. The standard seats don't look bad either. The crew members were very friendly and I believe I got free drinks and snacks up front.
reply

Worst crew delay, JFK to Seattle: the pilot called in sick last minute. 3 hours delay because the replacement pilot got stuck in afternoon rush hour traffic! They compensated us by making everything but alcoholic drinks FREE on the flight, and the route we used shaved a good chunk of time off the flight because we arrived only about 90 minutes late.

I've only flown Southwest on short hops, and they're fine for that. As a solo traveler I've never had a problem with their A-B-C boarding process. As long as I get a window seat I'm happy. My only complaint with them (and I know it's not a problem specific to Southwest) is how horrible it is to wait for a flight out of Terminal 1 in San Diego.
reply

I think you got it right here! I am a diehard jetBlue flyer. Only complaint I have with jetblue are the flight attendants are sometimes friendly/sometimes not (I guess the cost of having a NYC based crew ) and at times the planes are a little dirty. If I was comparing best US based airlines Id give it to Delta followed by jetBlue
reply

I’ve always found JetBlue to have a great product, but, even as you experienced, they are constantly delayed and poorly communicate. Same with Breeze as most of their flights plan for 35 minute turns. This is why I always fly Southwest. Every seat is the same, great crew, great value and most importantly, on-time.
