its a shame the southerner was pulled out of service in 2003 it would have been just as good, next time you are in new zealand in a pub ask them to put a shot (15ml) of lime and a few dashes of angostura bitters for a Gin Lemmon Lime Bitters, there is a story about otira, i dont know if they mentioned it in the commentary but Bill and christine Hennah brought the township in 1998 after passing through and feeling sorry for it. Christine Hennah said the couple paid $80, 000 for the hotel, school, fire station, town hall and 18 houses, but was up for sale in 2010, but they still live there, but when coal trains go thru the tunnel, up to 4 extra locomotives are connectedand banked for more power for the trip to arthurs pass, that highway after kiakoura is new after the 2016 earthquake

Been to NZ five times, with a North Island train ride in 1995. Beautiful place. One add-on. There is a braided valley; the Horcones Valley; in Argentina leading to base camp on the south face of Cerro de Aconcagua, the highest mountain in South America.

Along with the regular sheep on the grassy knolls did you happen to come across new zealand bunnies grazing among those shrubs and bushes, patches of thick grass at almost every twist and turn through this journey?
