Traveling Cuba by Bus - Better than Taxis? Vinales to Havana Junglist: You people are the reason -Americans- get a bad name. You're in CUBA! Get over yourselves man people are trying to survive there and drive their old cars to make money to feed their families. Theres plenty of buses and places in America that smell like piss. Instead of complaining and sounding like Americans about everything in Cuba why don't you say something positive or stay home and watch a movie. Your videos are super annoying and disrespectful to the Cubian people. Anyway you travel in life you gonna have a adventure and nothing is going to be perfect that's what makes it a journey. SMH

I just got back to Canada from a 1 month trip in Cuba! Saw this video in my recommendations -
Tip: find out how much the viazul bus trip costs and then negotiate with the taxi driver, the ones I went with usually only charge 2-5 CUC above the bus price.
Yes, most likely they'll be a ride share system, but luggage is put in the trunk or strapped on top of the car, never seen the luggage on lap situation before. Looking forward to the rest of your trip! You should go to Baracoa if you haven't already -

Great videos! we were in Havana and Vinales last month and loved it. Only potential scam was the bank guard offered money exchange on the side at a few more cents better on the dollar. I said -No thanks! -. I was taking no chances. We bought cigars at a farm but not one in your videos. The place we stayed on Main Street in Vinales was fantastic. Four of us rented a guide and his 1955 Ford for a 2 day/night drive to tobacco country. thanks for the videos that we totally relate to.

Two things: First, your bravery amazes me. Second, I think -spontaneous- tours during transportation are a South/Central American staple. My limit of bravery is booking my own excursions when we cruise. Twice now (once in Mexico and once in Belize, our van has just suddenly pulled over at some janky distillery to try to sell us booze. We thought we were being kidnapped. Fortunately, both times, the driver spoke enough English to explain that we were stopping -for a tour. -: -)

I reviewed your vlog on Tripadvisor Cuba Forum, today. Some major contributors responded positively. As stated by others, you folks have great vlogs. I did the Cuba though Cancun run. Your comments are so true and honest. My first reaction was -I wish I was there with you-. Thank you for being positive even through it seems rough at the time. My kind of adventurers! What type of camera did you use? Go Pro?

Hey kara and Nate I have a travel dilemma. I have plans on visiting Vancouver, BC, CANADA and I found a place I like but I do not have my passport yet. Do I go ahead and book now or wait to hear that I got my passport. I don't plan to go till end of July. So I have time but dont want to risk missing out on the Airbnb.

If I had to guess I would think those buses are government-run, the shared taxis put much-needed money in the hands of locals instead of going to the government. Have enjoyed all your Cuba adventures. My hair colorist is Cuban, from Havana, I've learned a lot about the real Cuba from her.

This little COUNTRY became a socialist state. So the people do not live on much and they do what they can to get by. Use to be a nice thriving country. The people are proud and very nice but they are living hard times. Just thought I would let you know in case you didn't know.

Nice, good old Via Azul. That was the old National Zoo, now the City Zoo. I used to get off the city bus at that bus stop where you shot the old blue Lada and walk 18 blocks to get to school in the morning: ) these videos bring back old memories. Thanks for sharing!

I love how your Cuba vlogs take me back to pre-internet days of travel with my family as a kid. There's something quite special about just showing up and discovering something new or having to make new plans when something goes wrong. Love it!
