I know this airplane from my long jumpseat experience and it is a beautiful sound!

Thanks for the memories. I used to fly with VLM on average once a week to Brussels (mainly) or Antwerp on business, over a period of 3 years. In those days VLM operated the majority of flights out of LCY and the apron would be dominated by its F50s. A sad end to what was a delightful little airline operating a great aircraft.

Noel would you ever consider flying from London City to New York via Shannon on the A318? Small aircraft with only 32 business class seats. Flying with British Airways flight number BA1, if your wife lets you overspend in luxury. Or might have enough BA air-miles to get a discount of the airfare.

Great video and really sorry for the ones which will be unemployed as I am right now.
Just adding info: Fokker 50 is still alive in InselAir, flying between the Caribbean Islands. I don't know if there are more units flying over the Americas because they aren't so often here.

I was a passenger on a Fokker 50 flying EDLN EGLC also operated by VLM in the late 90s. It was my first flight on a turbo prop before I became a regular passenger on regional (Finnair) flights ( EFHK EFTP ) on planes long retired by Finnair ( maybe ATR-72.

I worked as a sales and operations agent at an airtaxi company called TRAVAIR when VLM started at ANR. The founder was Freddy Van Gaever. I met him a few times. Very sympathetic person. He died December 15, 2017.

Nice the way you captured the sights and sounds of this turbo-prop aircraft both on the ground and in the air. Admittedly, the F. 50 is one Muther-Fokker airliner! Thanks for sharing!

There Is a question that haunts me. Where Is the carry-on of the second jew? They both boarded the plane with a piece of baggage, then just one of them had it!
