From your experience in finding the coach Noel, I'd like to point out that it was perhaps a bit overdone on your cab driver's end to drop you off at the Cab Road platform end. The problem that it gets you into is that you are essentially left with yourself scourging where and what platform your train is coming, while at the same time bypassing the inquiry booths situated right at the main entrance. Also, he should have mentioned the fact that every platform has digital coach-marking boards hanging, which are fairly accurate, and that's pretty much enough one would need to know to get on their train.
Now of course it's not possible for someone who's not versed with the usual workings of Indian stations to figure all of this out by themselves, and at the same time a little bit of online research would have helped you to great lengths.

WHAT WAS GOOD?
-A completely private room with air-conditioning
-Good food service
-Good cleaning service
-Not that noisy on the inside of the train
WHAT WAS BRUTAL?
-Strangers keep banging at the door at night coz they wanna see your face irl as a fan
-Because of that, you slept late at night
-Employees keep taking photos of you, when they serve you food n stuff
-Stinky toilets where your pees & poops will go to the track, GROSS!
If I were one of these employees, I would not try to take a photo of you and I would NOT bang at the door to annoy the heck outta your sleep!

I love the culture and scenery of India, but they really have to do something about how they go about business with sanitation and environment.
The country is filled with trash, dirty water, and pollutions and its the little things like allowing for septic waste to just dump onto the tracks that makes you wonder if they care even a little. Sure doesnt seem like it.
The one reason I havent visited India is because I dont think I could eat there knowing their standards are so low.

I spent a month a few years ago in Bangalore and it was great! Everyone I met on the street, spoke English from four-year-olds, two grandmothers. And since I was the only Caucasian, walking around, everybody approached me within the first three days, asking where I come from, they were super friendly, and it was super cheap there. At my favourite restaurant which I soon discovered a meal, with free refills, around Rs. 30. Aloo Gobi was my favourite food!

You went to an Indian train station, by yourself, with no idea where you're going!
BIG MISTAKE
it's a wonder you weren't pickpockets or scammed for all your wallets worth.
Foreign tourists are always prime victims for getting scammed cuz they know they can get away with charging ridiculous amounts and most foreigners wouldn't know any better.

I will not tolerate any gulab jamun disrespect. ITS A GREAT DESSERT. like REALLY NICE. also desi people just eat dinner very late and you paid for a whole cabin he was not gonna let you miss the service most people would want to be woken up for the meal. so culture difference I guess. They should just have do not disturb signs on the door

I traveled all over India in 3 ac. Best way to travel! Loved it!
I must say that over the counter Valium that was available everywhere did help with the sleeping situation!
Yes you get a lot of attention traveling around India. Always find some common ground by talking about cricket over some chai!

Ive done about 8, 000 miles on India Rail. You were very lucky to score a two bed coupe. Its what everyone wants.
I absolutely love traveling by train in 1AC, first class. You get to see India from a comfortable seat.
Id love to do another 8, 000 miles in my favorite country, India

A fun trip. You need to watch It ain't half hot mum to see how the locals respond to your requests. Tv series which will never be shown on TV again. Not politically correct but hilarious.
Did you get to do a number 2. With all those curries how could you not? lol

12: 55 Indian trains have long ago given away with dropping toilet waste on the tracks like some South Asian countries. These are bio toilets and yes both western as well as Indian toilets are available. There are swankier toilets on some trains though.

Noel, thanks for suffering for us lol. I will never be able to make that trip but I'm glad you did and we were able to watch. I especially like that you show us some of the sights, the ( sometimes) incredible looking foods and the oddities. Thank you

I never fancied going to India. After watching this I will definitely not be going. The shitting on the tracks and eating nothing but curry I can handle but Id end up punching someone if they put a camera in my face.

Indian trains are fitted with bio-toilets, the waste goes to the bio degrader nd not to the tracks down below. It's been more than a decade since all Indian trains have been fitted with bio-toilets

Dont worry about the food thing. I spent 6 weeks eating delicious Japanese food in northern Japan. When I got to Tokyo I would have sucked dick for a Hamburger
