My fella recently flew the BA 777 LAS-LGW and he had the most uncomfortable flight of his life. They had crammed four seats in the middle (3-4-3) and there just wasn't enough room. He's not a fat guy, kinda tall, but couldn't get comfortable with the width at all. Has put me off flying BA, but, glad you got an upgrade, lol. Oh, and the plane was five hours late taking off too.

I wonder why they chose 737s? You'd think the company would want to keep the equipment as standardised as possible. Plus, in the event that staff working in the UK want to transfer to Africa - or vice versa (possibly not that uncommon) it would require less retraining if you would be dealing with the same equipment just in a different country.

Noel it not so strange it's a ba airplane in South Africa. I flue in same plane in august this year from Capetown to Johannesburg the crew told me it's because South Africa was a British colony. I really love southafrika you should try mango flight.

Great review, you even got the English style weather to go along with your BA flight! I bet the wife would have liked to be at that hotel, hope she has not seen the video and thinks she is missing out

Great video Noel! Great flight on BA (Comair, always nice to get an upgrade. With the better seat, I would even say they have a better product than back in Europe

I travel to South Africa twice a year and one of the highlights of the journey is to travel in the Comair 737-400 that usually operate Johannesburg-Port Elizabeth. Love those birds: )

Schwimmweste Unter Ihrem Sitz - on a British Airways plane. Obviously it's there because of the original owner of the aircraft. Kind of ruins the suspension of disbelief.

Flew the BA 737 from Joburg to Cape Town in April in standard economy class and couldn't believe the free meal service that was offered. A hot meal as well. Very impressive

Comfy seats and good padding. Whereas the British Airways A320neo and A321neo seats have no reclining, little legroom, small seat pitches. Reminiscent of a budget airline

BA-Comair doesn't just fly the domestic routes here, they also fly a few regional routes out of JNB to Windhoek, Harare, Victoria Falls and Mauritius.

Not all the comair BA 737s have the same seat configuration. That said, even travelling in economy they trump BA in Europe hands down.

Well done. I also survived a Comair flight in SA in 2014. Nearly didnt flying with SA Express on the same trip however.
