Rarest aircraft I' ve ever flown are the TWA 747sp from Cairo to Athens, Malev Fokker 70 from Athens to Budapest, (on to Prague, Olympic Airways Shorts SX7 Skyvan from Athens to some Greek island (can't remember which one it was) and the Olympic Aviation Dornier DO 228 from Athens to the Island of Paros and back and from Rhodes to Kastellorizo and back. Have also flown on the Olympic Airways B707-320, B737-200, B727-283 from Athens to Cairo and Alexandria and back, a British Airways Lockheed L1011 TriStar and an Olympic Airways Airbus 300B4-102 from Athens to London and back. Fantastic times indeed. Also BA 757'S and 767's from ATH to LHR etc. Keep up the nice work!

You saw a Chinese aircraft called a Xian MA60, that you also found out most of which have been grounded due to safety concerns, and your first thought was. Nothing wrong with MA60. it is western mentality issue that fear China rise will leave the western fully eclipsed. Recently there is ATR72 that crashed near Nepal airport. Most comments despised the MA60 and brag about ATR72 from Europe, with are supposed to be certified and safet. Guess what? It crashed and many died, my condolence to them.
Maybe if they use MA60, the better prop plane. it can be avoided.

Imagine requiring American dollars, in cold hard cash, to buy a flight ticket, in a country whose currency's Nepalese rubles, in a third world country where hardly anybody has hardly any money at all. That's actually ridiculous. Even requiring cash to buy something as expensive as a flight ticket's kinda absurd. It's not exactly something cheap where cash is understandable, like a chocolate bar or something.

Most of them are NOT grounded. That is NOT true! There was an issue, and as it is in aviation industry all over the world, the model was grounded until issues were resolved and clarified. That was no different from what happens to Western planes. There is nothing wrong with the plane - it uses Western engine (PW) and a well tested Antonov design. People need to stop being paranoid!

My rarest plane is the Fokker 50 in 2022 on the DUB-CFN route. As a kid growing up in de fog of Schiphol I always used to see the Fokker planes coming over me. I am too young to have seen the F27 apart from in the museums, but flying Dutch history was very much worth it.

The rarest type I've flown (from today's point of view) was a DHC-7 from Kuala Lumpur to Tioman island in 2013. Berjaya Air, unfortunately this route doesn't exist anymore. The approach to Tioman was adventurous and stunning. Too bad the airfield is now closed since 2014

Flew a Boeing 720B Ethiopian Airlines from Rome to Asmara Eritrea in 1963 when Eritrea was Federated with Ethiopia! The 720B to me was a shortened/smaller Boeing 707 suited for the runway in Asmara. The airline was staffed by TWA flying in Ethiopian Airlines livery.

Awesome video, though wish you came to China pre-pandemic to fly it - It will be in the ballpark of the national price of Nepal Airlines and you wouldnt need to pay taxes. Even many Chinese havent flown MA-60 as it is only used by one Chinese domestic airline now.

I flew on an MA60 on Lao Airlines (Luang Prabang, Laos to Vientianne, Laos) in 2008. I remember the seats looked like they were covered in beach towels. It was a pretty flight as we flew over mountains and then over the Mekong River before landing.

My first flight was on a Fokker F27 like in 1969 or so. Also been on a F50 on a hop from Rotterdam to Cambridge to watch the airshow at Mildenhall.
As a contrast i flew on the A380 too.
When in Bali i saw a lot of Ma60 flying locally.

The main reason the MA60 is quieter is because of those Pratt Whitney turborprops. They run smooth as butter in comparison to the An-24's very reliable, but notoriously loud Ivchenko AI-24 with a big roaring gearbox.

The aircraft use in China is far more modern than the one you ride here. This is more like a cargo plane use in China. I will not travel in that for free, knowing my life is not safe with made in China.

One of this aircraft, the MA-60, was plunged into a shallow sea in Indonesia on 7 May 2011. It was plunged when preparing for landing. All passengers including all the crews no survive.

Never flown on MA60, only see it once in Guilin/KWL/ZGKL.
Always heard of bad reputations about it, espercially in comfort. You video kinda made me surprised.
