Nice one Noel. Liked the seating on the plane, but, all the way to TX and only for a Longhorn steak? Really? All the way to TX for a branch of the huge Longhorn steak house chain. Oh dear. We even avoid Longhorn at the top of my road here in MD Noel LOL! Please, please, don't fly to Italy looking for a branch of Olive Garden Noel LOL!
P. S. Sorry Noel. I did not read the comments before I left my own. You certainly got perhaps quite rightly roasted or should I say grilled for your choice of restaurant there Noel! Glad you enjoyed it though! Pop around to me I'll take you for another one. LOL.

Noel, I noticed when you were flying towards Houston you came over my state, Arkansas! At least you flew over! That's interesting that you went for a steak dinner then flew back to the UK later that night. Wished I could be that bold! Fried okra-that's not necessarily a Texan thing; that's a southern thing! LOL! That steak looked delicious! I've eaten at Longhorn before-actually did it in Frisco, TX once. It was good! Then came back home and ate at my local Longhorn-it sucked compared to Frisco! LOL!

Noel, I noticed when you were flying towards Houston you came over my state, Arkansas! At least you flew over! That's interesting that you went for a steak dinner then flew back to the UK later that night. Wished I could be that bold! Fried okra-that's not necessarily a Texan thing; that's a southern thing! LOL! That steak looked delicious! I've eaten at Longhorn before-actually did it in Frisco, TX once. It was good! Then came back home and ate at my local Longhorn-it sucked compared to Frisco! LOL!

Was interested to see what you thought of the Singapore A350s, I did the same flight in May 2019. (Although I didnt come back the same day)
One thing that struck me on my flight was the captain seemed actually accelerate around the final corner to the runway and then continue to accelerate to take off without pausing to line up. At the time I had visions of him doing it one handed with one arm out of the window!

I used to do crazy stuff like this in the 1980s when I used to get totally free airline tickets from Air Canada as my father worked for them. Used to just get the tube to Heathrow and write out my ticket (yes had written then) go to Toronto, do a bit of shopping for the day and get the night flight back

There are LOADS of fantastic restaurants in Manchester, you should try them because that's one hellova long trip just for a steak

I feel bad he went to long horn for steak that isnt a classic Texas steak because theirs a longhorn in New Jersey by me and some in Pennsylvania I know he probably didnt know but for next time dont fly to Texas to get steak at longhorn

I have friends in the UK. They routinely horrify me with the cost of living there. Just the price of gas/petrol in London alone. It's probably cheaper to fly to Texas first class than have a steak in an English pub.

OMG Longhorn? This is most definitely not a Texas steakhouse lol. If you wanted to achieve simply eating steak in Texas then you did it. but my word. you could have got a better steak at the airport in the UK.

A mileage run! Awesome! I did one several years ago. I was eight hours late arriving, got food poisoning at my hotel, and had to leave for the airport at 4am the next morning. Ugh.

Question: Why does SIA do these transatlantic routes? Their staff is far away from home and it seems like FRA to JFK or indeed MAN to IAH seems out of their range.

Now, Houston had to have better steakhouses than Longhorn. Couple of US steakhouses (among many) to try are Berns in Tampa and St Elmos in Indianapolis.
