It's interesting to see how someone who flies every plane and airline in the world can be so afraid of a ship. I myself used to enjoy flying very much and often until a year ago, when out of nowhere the fear of flying caught up with me. To this day, I can't get on any plane. But I like ships and I'm looking forward to my transatlantic crossing with the Queen Mary II next year: ) Cheers to all of you lovley dudes of the community and Noel as well.

You seemed a little apprehensive at the start, Noel. Your ocean travel phobia kicked in, I guess. But once on board you did a masterful job
in taming that wild mini bar. I wish I could have helped you, but you managed single handedly. Well done Sir! Your commentary was much more
relaxed after that. Your phobia was quelled. The ferry looked a little blurred, but it was back in focus for breakfast. Carry on Sailor!

What a beautiful suite! For that price I would definitely take the ship and rails. I was hoping to see the restaurant and other parts of the shop. It was funny watching you clear the mini bar even before departure but it calmed your nerves so that's good. Love the pic of you sitting in the window, you should frame that one to celebrates and remember your success. I am King of the World!

Ive done that ferry journey a few times now, with young kids its far better than the Chunnel and hours of are we there yet in the car. You also have the bonus of avoiding France.
Even the family cabins are pretty nice and come with booze too, really rate it as a service.
Also, pro tipthe humming of a ferry engine seems to make babies sleep like a log.

I'm sorry you're scared of boats. I've only been on one a few times, just some small river craft in Wisconsin and a few ferries. I've only been on a salt water boat once, and that was a small car ferry in Corpus Cristi, Texas. Either way, I've always loved being on the water. I've always wanted to sail.

Have to say Noel. Your comments on boaty things was hilarious. Lots of thingies and whatever that is. Interesting to see so few people on the entire trip from London to Schipol airport.
Like you say, strange times. I guess it'll all be a little busier now in February 2022. Great video as ever.

I sailed past the herald free enterprise a week after as it lay there on its side. I was a school kid going to germany for the week. On the way back it had been dragged into dock. One side completely green. Cant say i really liked the roll on roll off ferries after seeing that!
Great vid Noel

Great review, Noel. One question: was there no restaurant or cafe on the ferry? Considering how much all those drinks would have cost plus hotel equivalent, Id say you got a bargain! Looked very relaxing. Id sure like to try that trip some day. Maybe sans the number of drinks you had!

My kind of man if it's free it must be drunk. On princess cruises I get a mini bar set up. All airline size bottles. 2 gin 2 vodka 2 scotch and 2 brandy. With 2 bar. It's a challenge on 1 day cruises but it does get done. I just pace myself more.

Man, this must be so romantic with your girlfriend in those beds. so much nicer than waiting around an airport, at check-in, at security, in the plane, at immigration, at customs. at baggage claim. and still not having paid for a night in a room.

So much more stress free and relaxing compared with the mayhem, dirt, chaos and noise of UK airports. The inside cabins are much more basic but still very comfortable and are ensuite. I do miss the very fast and short lived HSS service though.

Quick question, why do they put you through a security check as a passenger and scan your bag but let you drive a car/van/lorry on with no checks at all literally biggest waste of time and effort Ive ever seen.

A bit late to the comments here, but if you have the stena plus category tickets there is also a lounge with complimentary drinks, a small complimentary buffet and an a la carte menu you can order food from.

Watching you drink all that alcohol right after you got into your room on the ferry, I couldn't help thinking you really should have been eating a nice meal. Did they serve any meals on that ferry?

Omg that ferry room is amazing! I so wish I could get to be in it! It's sad to hear you have a fear of boating because I was really hoping someday you'd do different kinda of ships and things

Hi Noel great video as always, perhaps try in a future video the trip between Newcastle and Amsterdam. I have been many times on this crossing but wondered what you would make of it.

lovely to see the alternate transpo due to C. Much nicer than the very old boat we took from Morocco back to Spaon. ty for your wide variety of vlogs for us usual mainstream travelers.

Low cost airlines and ferries seem to be the cheapest option when getting from the UK to neighbouring countries. The Eurostar was crazy expensive when I looked recently.
