CHAOS and CONFUSION? Flying KLM Business Class to Canada Fabian: I flew the first time with KLM in 2019 from Amsterdam to Sao Paulo. My wife and I had a normal economy seat and when we sat down we realized a horrible smell, a combination of alcohol and several weeks of sweat. It turned out to be the person besides us. As it was an almost 12 hour flight, I stood up and went to the front to talk with one of the flight attendances. I explained to her the situation and asked if there is any possibility to change places a bit more far away from the passenger. She was really nice and told me she will do her best. They then started to relocate some other passengers first and at one point she also passed beside us, maybe also to check if we told the truth. I could see in her eyes when she passed that she could definitely also smell it at one point almost at the end of the boarding she then came to us with a big smile and said You both must the honeymooners, follow me, we have some special seats for you. This was quite clever so that they guy did not know that it was because of him we would be relocated. She brought us then some rows in the front and we received each a glass of champagne and some nuts, probably something one normally just gets in business class. We were so happy and thanked her million of times. Also the flight attendant who took care of us later during the flight seemed to really like his job, took time to talk with us and was excellent. Even though I was in economy class, I felt like I was flying business. I think this was the first time I gave a tip to the flight attendant and even filled out a review on the KLM website to give a positive feedback. Since then I always look for affordable KLM flights whenever I travel for more than 6 hours.

I only flew on KLM once MANY years ago, but it was my first flight on a commercial 747-400, so just that alone was memorable. I'd have to say that I was treated well in economy. The stewardesses were friendly and they left out a bowl of chocolates in the galley for us to sample if we desired. The ONLY down side to the trip was entirely trivial. I had picked up a bit of German while in the Army and the Dutch language (my first exposure) was just different enough to scramble my brain. It sort of sounded like German but my brain couldn't translate. I didn't care much for Schiopol airport because I don't care for cigarette smoke, but I did discover a very nice cheese shop there and had my first sample of aged Reypanauer. I'm now addicted to the stuff!

I like KLM, but I did have one experience that irritated me. I had upgraded to premium economy and I usually check to see if business class is available being that one can get a cheaper price. For some reason the app and the website would not let me purchase the seat when they came open 24 hours before the flight. So, I got to Amsterdam from Riyadh (stopped in Dubai for gas. Weird, I know) and I wanted seat 5A on a dreamliner. I sat at the gate for an hour with the KLM agent to get this seat and there was a glitch with my ticket. It was a whacky experience, but they hooked me up being that I was patient and took so long. 600 Euro bumped down to 250 from Amsterdam to Vegas.

So the vaccinations didn't make a blind bit of difference then! You still had to take a PCR test that its Nobel prize winning inventor said was too unreliable for diagnostic testing, and you had to wear community masks that Anthony Fauci had called virtual signalling apparel. While here in the UK we were being refused entry to weddings, visit dying loved ones in hospitals and care homes, while our leaders party'ed with cheese and wine. for a pandemic the head of the WEF said was the mildest in 2000 years.

I used to work at a regional airport in south east England that only run klm flights. 4 a day 2 out and 2 in. It was the most wonderful experience working alongside klm and their staff. Everyone got business class treatment as the max passenger numbers were 52 per flight and the departure lounge was essential one big business class lounge. I miss that airport and the people. Sadly it shut in 2015 1 year after starting klm flights.

Kudos to you, Noel for treating the staff with kindness and decency. It's very rare nowadays and love the way you interact with the staff as well as how you describe the flights. That seat looked comfy you were sitting in going to Canada! You must have been everywhere by now! I love living vicariously through your travel videos. And your Loo Reviews always make me laugh because it has a catchy ring to it-the name!

It is interesting that people from England dont seem to know what to call the U. S. It is usually everything but the US. And its not just you, it is most people from England. I wonder why that is? If you call us America remember there is also South America. It is probably best to just to say: The U. S. or United States. Im only putting this out because Im a little bit baffled

Its not a vaccine. Fancy risking your health just to travel Actually unimpressed you went along with all this nonsense whilst Canadians were/ are treated like peasants by their own PM and not allowed to leave the country because they choose what goes in their bodies

LOL about passing back over the UK. However, when I lived in Wales, flying to Schipol was faster than an overland journey to somewhere like LHR, LGW or MAN. KLM is practically what makes CWL an international airport if you put the summer charters aside.

Based on need - it looks like the JANTAMINIAU Kit could do with ear plugs & female tampons (unless there is a unique female version of this kit. A decent deodorant would be welcome anyway. Only the case appears JANTAMINIAU banded - the contents aren't.

Hi Noel from Alberta, Canada. do come visit! We're flying KLM to Amsterdam in a few weeks and I sure do wish we could afford Business Class. It's over $4200 Can one way. Oh to win the lottery! Thanks for a great video.

The restrictions in regards to vaccines for foreign travel is a disgrace. I will wait, even if if means no more foreign travel. Thank goodness restrictions have lessened in certain countries now in April 2022

If anyone ever tried to serve me veal in any guise, they'd be spending a fair amount of the next year getting plastic surgery to have their face put back together. Not a joke. What a set of scumbags.

I just love Down town Toronto mate. My fav place Ive been so far. One of the things on my bucket list was to have a meal up the CN Tower and I have been luckily enough to have done that twice now

You could make a simple points system for the loo review. Points for dry floor, overall cleanliness, size/space, light, door locks! Etc
Also grade for the amenity kit, like an A or B+ etc

The vegan burger's the only burger? Makes me wonder if the powers that be will make sure that meat substitutes are the only sole option for the whole of wider society in the next 20-30 years.

I recommend that you need a big Canadian Brunch or perhaps just pancakes and maple syrup to remind you that you are travelling to Canada and not the US.
But it's an easy error to make.

That's hilarious! 5-10 minutes to cross from the east coast of England to the west coast, and 7 hours to fly from Newfoundland on Canada's east coast to Vancouver on the west coast.

Problem with KLM for me it gets into Cape Town late at night, it's not an airline issue but a safety from the airport to home issue. Hijackings often take place late at night.
