How was Hiring a PRIVATE JET Cheaper than Flying COMMERCIAL? Andi: Glad you discovered the benefits of private flying. All be it a prop. I work on private jets, for one owner, not chartered, and for them it is a business tool. For exactly some of the reasons you give. No commercial airports, no queues, fly direct to a much more local and convenient airfield, and for us, the owner is able to work onboard, sleep and eat onboard meaning they are more productive at their destination.

Wow that is the nicest avionics suite I have ever seen in a king air! Absolutely beautiful! The only part of that cockpit that gives it away to king air fans is the roof control panel with large black dimmer switch knobs for all the cockpit lighting and windshield whispers lol I absolutely love the king air it is a fantastic little plane that is like the SUV of the skies!

I love smaller planes but be it a car, bus, taxi, or airplane of any size I can't fly backward. Motion sickness. Back in the day (40 years ago) I worked for a small airline that flew planes slightly larger than yours. Your crew looks rather young. I have shoes older than them.

King Air is a turbo-prop not a 'jet'. but an aircraft I love to fly. Beautiful Glass Panel in this iteration. almost makes flying 'fun' again! The smallest 'jet' I've flown in was an A-37B Dragonfly. still in use in many countries' Air Forces. That's fun flying as well.

10: 05 This is exactly what my dad had in mind when he ordered a Lincoln TownCar LIMOUSINE instead of 5 seats on a shuttle van back in 1998 to get us from Houston's William P. Hobby airport to our new apartment west of Sam Houston Tollway

Funny how these things work out sometimes. I once flew my mother from Auckland, NZ to San Francisco, CA, US on short notice (about a week) in first for USD 3000, vs USD _4000_ for an economy seat. (Edited to clarify flight route)

I like her! 'well ya know it ain't exactly a Gulfstream'! lol and to be real if you had 6 or 8 people flying business class I bet the cost difference wouldn't be that much at all. It's still nice to dream!

How many times did you utter the words private jet? It was embarrassing! The Beech King Air is a turboprop, not a jet. Thats not being pedantic, its fact!
I am pleased that you enjoyed your flight.

Thanks for this, as I'm sure you will have worked it all out being as good as you are travelling. You & the family deserve some great treats for all hard work you & they do. Xx

I don't understand- for $5k for a flight under an hour for 6 people, you couldn't have actually flown on a private jet? I'm not talking about a Gulfstream 6 but something else?
reply

What makes this so great is they are normal people.
I agree with his missus though. a bigger jet with sofas would be nice. Say a Gulfstream 650ER

She wants a bigger private jet next time. And if you do that she is gonna tell you to buy a jet. Then shes gonna want private pilots. Etc etc.

From Qatar Q Suites to a 6 seater private jet! You dont get more diverse Content than that! Thanks Noel, I really enjoyed watching this. X

Madness that they wanted 2k each. Even if you couldn't afford this then it would be cheaper to hire a mini bus but not as exciting.
reply

Just so you know mate, I'm taking notes of all your made up words under extreme excitement lol!

Loads of bollux being posted below. I know didly squat about flying but I can tell when someone is having a hoot: -) Well done!

I think you chartered a private plane, not a private jet. But it it's still a lovely turbo prop to have chartered, great cabin.
reply

your wife has good taste. A gulfstream V in black with gold trim ala Larry Flint would be my dream private aircraft
reply

Yeah at that price I would've just taken ryanair to Birmingham or Manchester, then hired private transport from there
reply

Why wouldn't you take all the snacks with you? I fly private occaisionally and always take the leftover snacks!
