What a shame u were not able
To stay in Skardu. I literally just done this tour in July/Aug with family and the most amazing time. beautifuldespite everyone else telling us its dangerous flight and dangerous place because of Landsliding but against all odds my husband made it possible and I left no regrets and seen everything I wanted! I seriously recommend u must go again stay for a week!

It's so sad that world events have made this kind of thing so rare. I remember crossing the Himalayas en route from the Far-East to Europe as a youngster and visiting the flight deck during the night. The dim glow of the lighting and the endless stars above were awe inspiring.
I was lucky enough to be able to jumpseat with SAS a few years back from CPH-MUC on an A320 which was cool.

I only flew to Skardu once, back in the early 1980's on a fokker F27, was incredible! On the return leg after a week, we took the very first jet engined flight out on a 737, both PIA of course. Its a pity you didnt show K2 on the way back from the flight deck, or the Tarn i recall closeby to K2 (cant remember the name. Thank you, it really brought back wonderful memories!

Guessing theres not many things more humbling than hearing rtard over and over again at one of the most critical stages of a flight
Its definitely made me chuckle at times especially as an autistic person it really just tickles me to think of my beloved plane yelling such a kind word at me when Im just trying to get on with my life.

How amazing! Im having trouble finding words. Just astonishing how i could have an opinion of Pakistan and the region only to be left completely speechless as the genuine kindness by all that you encountered. Even the warm smiles of well armed guards questioning your intentions. Just amazing.

what an incredibly kind and friendly bunch of people from the guy on the ground telling you A1 to the pilot! Hearing you talk about the ATR reminded me of flying to shetland Island regularly to fly offshore, hellishly bad plane: ( I remember seeing the crash in Taiwan. shocker

Brilliant work Noel and to the amazing pilots and crew, hope PIA got their EU and US accreditation back, loved the Fligt Deck view too. Loved the double checking of the landing gear by ATC. Absolutely well done. Been to Nepal with Thai in 1989 then a trek. great stuff.

Once PIA was the worlds no 1 Air line in the 70s. Pia is the one who Helped Emirates by providing them with planes and pilots. but sadly the corrupt govt of pakistan is to be blammed for PIA current reputation. but noel brother Glad you enjoyed it!

As a nervous flyer, I always got on to the flight deck back in the day when it was allowed as the crew thought it would reassure me. I saw some amazing scenery and it was great chatting to the Captain and FO.

That's incredible! I remember the days when you used to be able to go in cockpits and speak to the pilots, something like this would never happen in The West nowadays.
