6 HOURS on Pakistan's $19 FIRST CLASS Bus: How Bad Can It Be? Khalid: Uber sucks. I used an Uber in Peru and same thing happened to me and driver ran away with my cash when I expected change. Obviously we use Uber to use a credit card, but since I had that experience and also Uber support wouldn't help at all or even give me a credit, I just use other apps like Lyft or Didi abroad. I had other issues with Lyft before and never had a problem getting a refund or credits.

Well, it's a few awesome videos about Pakistan, but I have to admit- if you will go just a little out of big cities- you will find totally different picture. I'm not really in love with this country, however, I'm doing business there.
It's not that brilliant, as you're showing, but interesting indeed, and people there are so nice

Noel. a smart traveller. Such a rich experienced you got in Pakistan. Good & Bad guys every where but we should be careful. You choose Bus rather than aeroplane. It is quite different to know about the experience for any new destination. Excellent effort to shared and explored by different way. Keep it up.

Noel, try Faisal movers (bus company) has massage chairs and everything for a similar price! I has the same issue with my taxi driver in lahore. unfortunately, i've been told that this is very common in lahore. Cancelling rides, then demanding more money. Stood my ground and he backed off

You will find buses and services like this all over the world except the US for example in chile, mexico, peru, to name a few. the US likes them cars so they do not do anything of this sort to have other cheap and comfortable means of transportation.

I dont Uber, as anything on line can be switched off, good on you for sticking to ur guns though Noel, the bus looks awesome and interesting that you said thr roads were good pity the uk cant get there shit sorted out lol.
reply

I travelled on the same journey by coach almost 20 years ago. It seems the quality has improved since then. Shame the Uber driver tried scamming you, but I'm glad you stuck to your guns and paid the Uber price.

I just flew back from India and seeing a bus in Pakistan it makes me realise, India and Pakistan are storming towards the future while the UK is being dragged back without a struggle into the 70's!
reply

Turns out Uber sucks in Pakistan too. Here in Indian cities it's a total ripoff and no support is available. The drivers know passengers will just eat the cost and they have no repercussions.

Uber is a really bad horrible company. I never use them. they tried to scam me by charging me 100 dollars for nothing. I disputed it on my credit card. Anyway the crappy company blacklisted me.
reply

Don't forget that price is relative. To locals that bus is possibly expensive and out of reach. A bit like travelling first class on a plane, most of us will never be able to afford this.
reply

wonderful coach/bus fellow south asians. Zing bus wasn't exactly a luxury bus so comparisons are moot. But I do hope we have such buses in India too. Dunno as I dont travel by these often.
reply

Hate that scam. They cancel ride so its no longer under Uber rules. Classic scam. Like you said the joke is you get Uber for safety to prevent scamming from the regular cabs
reply

Way to stand your ground and hold tight on what you should pay in the app! This guy wouldve received a tip, instead he received what he shouldve and no tip. I hate scammers!
reply

The Uber scam of cancelling the trip in progress is a sad indictment on the company. You would have hoped someone should have foresaw that scam and put something in place.
reply

I thought the locals in Pakistan offer to pay for everything according to the other foreign vloggers. This strikes me as odd since the foreign tourist can afford to pay.

Haven't been back in Pak for a few years, but I always used Careem over Uber. That uber driver was trying to scam hard that's so annoying smh. Try out Careem next time

Salt range, thats the area where the Himalaya pink salt comes from. lol yeah its not actually the Himalayas but for someone in marketing close enough I guess.
reply

If it's first class, water and light refreshments should be provided. But it's $19 and the seats, hardware looks comfy. So I guess it evens out? haha.
reply

I see people focusing on Uber than a wonderful buss. By the way, taxi scam in Pakistan is very very rare. One bad apple doesn't represent the majority.
