I have a comment on your comparison. For me the comfort/enjoyment of a flight depends on 1) seat design, 2) crew attitude/service & 3) plane type in that order.
As far as I know, the airlines basically buy an empty shell off Boeing or Airbus and they specify what ever layout and seats they want using the various suppliers of airline seats. I would agree with you that the seats on your Paris to Cairo were better BUT I don't think that is anything to do with Boeing or Airbus. It's simply whatever Air France specified when that plane was fitted out.
Your question can only really be answered if you flew in a Boeing and Airbus with exactly the same seat type?
Personally I've flown in nearly all types of aircraft including the Comet and Concorde. For me the seat and service win out, I don't really care who makes the plane!
By the way, you should try AF LaPremier in the 777 - an amazing service. Only 4 seats and the on the ground service is second to none!

I just flew home to Denver from Frankfurt on a Lufthansa 787-9 Dreamliner. I had a bulkhead window seat in Premium economy, Seat 8A, on the left side. I had 8K going to Frankfurt on the other side. 8A has two windows, 8K has just one window. Got two hot meals on the 9. 5 hour flight. The dreamliner is a super comfortable plane for long flights. Frankfurt airport a little hard to navigate, and not easy to find any help with that. They take you from the plane to the terminal in a bus at Frankfurt, much easier at Denver where you just board and deplane via sky bridge. I tried the Lufthansa lounge at Frankfurt when I arrived, nice to use the sleeping room for a nap, take a shower, and get some good food and drink during a long layover. I hope to try business class next time, great report Noel!

Noel, have you ever stayed at the Sofitel hotel at Heathrow airport? I've stayed there twice, it is very nice, and I had nice views out of the windows with blackout curtains. Both women who work at the online check-in counter were consistently quite rude, but everyone else there is so nice and professional and helpful.
And the restaurant just a few feet away is excellent with very nice waiters and waitresses, and the buffet breakfast is amazing.
Sofitel is right there at Terminal 5, down an inside hallway. I loved it there.

Service was spectacular, vegan options were adequate, Seat K9 was perfect. Not so perfect was K1 (even a business class 180 seat can be too close to the bathrooms and front galley)
I wonder which airline provides the best Premium Economy in the 787-10, 9 & 8.
If one of them has a 2-3-2 or 2-4-2 premium economy, I'd do a window seat.
3-4-3 is terrible for windows

question about CDG transit, if someone arrives to T2 and departures from T2, can you go from T2 to T1 to use lounge and come back to T2? Do you need Schengen (if you are not European or US passport)? I'm Jordanian and in 2014 they denied me to go from T2 to T1 they said you need a Schengen or departure from T1. Did the law change or they made a shuttle or train? CDG is the weirdest Airport in Europe requesting Schengen to go between Terminals. and NO FREE Water Fountains

Having flown both, I honestly prefer the 787 (United Experience) over the A350 (Lufthansa experience. I found the A350 to be quieter overall at cruise but felt more cramped in the back and the cabin didn't feel much more open than an A330. The 787 I flew on was United's first 787-8 to enter service flying from MUC to SFO, and despite its age (2018 at the time) it just felt more open and comfortable than the A350, despite being an older cabin than the A350.

I want to go to see my brother in Rome, GA. I want to definitely do air france business class to atlanta. Then I'll gave to go on Delta Airlines boeing 717 from atlanta to Chattanooga, TN. and get a taxi from tennessee to Rome, GA. I'm saving up. It will take me a long time to save but I am saving for a luxury trip as I love aviation.
You should try the delta b717. I don't know what other routes they do. I know they do atlanta to Chattanooga though.

Noel's favorite aircraft is a grand long range aircraft. Meanwhile, my favorite aircraft is the Boeing 737 - 900ER and it has been for a long time. You might ask why specifically the ER variant of the 900. Well, I have a bit of bias here, that specific aircraft type is about as old as I am. I've always loved the Boeing 737 family in general, I love all of the different sounds they make, especially the engines, and I love how they look.

Bye bye lines I also found out in Vancouver that if security in Canada pick you for random advanced screening, once they finish with you they allow you to jump in line with their priority lines. So that was kinda cool, got my laptop swabbed in exchange for not standing in 20+ minute line. I can work with that.

The majority of what you compared has little to do with Airbus vs Boeing. The interiors, including seats, entertainment systems, overhead bins, etc. are per the airline's specs. Air France's A350s have a newer average age than their 787s, so the A350s have newer interiors. Both of them are amazing planes, but I'm more of a Boeing guy, so I prefer the 787.

Have you ever stopped to consider that the socks could be presented for the purposes of protecting ones own socks? Let's not forget you like to travel around the plane in your socks. Also for extra warmth if your own aren't quite keeping your toes warm.

Had a question about layovers. If you have a 8, 9 or more hour layover in Doha, Helsinki, Korea, London or wherever is it easy to just leave the airport and explore the area for a few hours and get back to the airport and back in the business lounge without to much issues or being stuck waiting?

I find the A350 a much better and advanced looking plane than the 787. I flew both planes and especially on economy the seats of fhe A350 are better looking with bigger entertainment screens and the toilets are bigger aswell then that of the 787. The mood lighting on the 787 is verry nice tho.

My favorite A350 livery has to be Asiana I love their livery and I think its amazing on the A350 dont get me wrong other airlines like SAS frenchbee Lufthansa Singapore airlines and Cathy pacific are nice on the A350 as well but its just the colors on the Asiana A350 livery that I like.

Love your videos, your great pre-prep is obvious. I was confused for a couple minutes at the beginning when you showed a Boeing 747 and I think an Airbus 340. It threw me off! I was wondering if some airlines were back to those old 4-engine airliners! Anyway, thanks for doing what you do!

Entertaining and informative as usual! I agree that a clean white fuselage works well on the A350- especially if combined with bold, vibrant colours on the tail and logo. For me, Ethiopian is the pick of those with that scheme. I think Asiana has the best A350 livery in general.

I prefer the A350, but don't think it matters much in business class. Where it does matter is economy, that additional fuselage width of the A350 makes a huge difference. It's the difference between being wedged up against the wall and being able to sit naturally.

Nice report. BA could learn some tips on food presentation from this video. Did you feel a bit bloated after so much lounge and flight food and drink? I always used to overindulge in lounges and onboard and then had a reality check.

747 is my favourite. I hate that the airlines have almost retired all of them. They were super comfy and never really hit turbulence going across the atlantic. All the planes i've taken since just bounce about so much!
