I've seen that polish tent on numerous occasions. I'm not impressed by it. Anyone can and should do much better. There are plans in a Continental Shelter Building book on building both a Yurt and a Lavuu which is significantly larger and much more efficient. Also, there is Far North Bushcraft who recently did an excellent video on making His own heating stove which turned out really well and with the most primitive tools. It was very cheap. This stove is a lot nicer, and more professionally done, but at 22 lbs, it is a little heavy. However, I went to the link and found that the base price for this heater is about 300. 00 which is pretty nice. However, One could purchase Titanium Sheet, and with the directions of Far North Bushcraft make a pretty nice stove for about the same price.

you're very lucky to not have deadly animals around. we have hybrid coyotes here that are huge, unafraid of humans and aggressive. young girl got half eaten in the highlands a few years back. everyone lost it people were shooting them where ever they seen them. still are i hear. in the yard every now and then. bobcats, lynx, bear, moose etc. maybe even a ( SAMSQUAMCH ) or two. as well as racoons, porcupine and lots of rabbits and deer. cooking food in the canadian woods is a bad idea. although it can be done with extensive precautions. you should be ok inside a steel 45 gallon drum. except for skunks. people day- trip trails mostly. there, my rant is over. the end. cheers to ya

Awesome video. I know what it is like to camp in the woods in England, lived there for three years when I was a young lad. Went to school in Stratton 2, 3 and 4th. Was in the scouts with my uncle john, winter camping, summer camping what an experience I will never forget. I now camp winter summer in the Rockies of Montana, Wyoming and Colorado. Here you always got to be on the lookout big game wildlife, firearms are a must, lions, bears, wolves. Love your videos, keep them coming.

Finally, someone on YouTube who is actually using the lavvu the right way out The arm flaps on the outside to keep the rain out, and the extra bit of material at the top of the cape on the inside, so the side of the tent exposed to rain has as few seams as possible. It should also be worn that way round. That extra bit of material that lies around your shoulders stops the outer canvas from wearing out and acts as extra warmth and a waterproof layer. Well done that man

Thanks for the video I've been watching your videos for a little bit now, but saw your Gstove/cabin post on instagram and started down the rabbit hole of watching how you used it. Really inspired me to switch some of the ways I camp since I have a tendency to go light/backpacking style, but a teepee tent with wood oven in the winter would be so much fun and maybe even comfortable enough I could convince the wife to tag along. Thanks man Cheers

Really like your film and information. For me one thing that I would recommend is to edit out some of the superfluous film. It shortens up the viewing time but does not eleminate the important information. One needs to determine what the goal of the film is. Are you taking me out for a night in the woods (but even then watching someone cut up vegies can get dull, or are you trying to impart important information, Keep it pithy.

I'm going to sit my 11 year old godson in front of this, he's always on his phone or his x-box, but he can (and does) work with nature, he loves carving up wood with the Victorinox knife I bought him. I especially want him to hear your message near the end. He is always very resistant to putting the technology aside, except when he is camping at a festival with me but that only happens once or twice a year.

Love the videos. As a protective cover for the pipe out of the tent. Go to your local fire department and ask if they have an old fire jacket they are going to retire. You can usually pick it up free or very cheap. Cut the sleeves off and put it around the outter pipe sleeve. They are almost perfect for what you are doing and they don't add much weight to your pack. Good luck and God Bless

Appreciate your comments of limiting your exposure to social media/technology in favor of the fabulous outdoors. I/we are way good with all of that. .. Regarding the tent protector on the g-stove smoke pipe, I suggest you experiment with the height of the protector above the stove top. If you can get it some higher, more cooller is available to pass between the two surfaces. Cheers - m

I haven't found enough time to watch all of your videos ( having a young family and all, but do you any videos which cover the native (English or the entire uk) hardwood, softwood trees, plants and their uses? I am halfway through watching this video and think you're work is fantastic, I understand you're a busy fella, but I hope that I hear back from you in the future. Cheers mush.
