This week Jessica hitchhikes for the first time and makes it to Franklin, NC. Again, thank you to everyone showing kindness on and around the trail! Let us know if you have any questions and a late but very special Happy Mother's Day to all of the mothers out there! Lacy: Homemade Wanderlust, really enjoying your videos. I have been to the top of that same fire tower on a day hike and the views are amazing. I would love to one day thru hike the AT. Just need to get somethings straitened out in life and finances taken care of for such a long trip without a job first.

I live in Franklin, so cool to see so many positive things about it on YouTube! The guys at outdoor76 are awesome, my office is literally right upstairs from them. It has been heartbreaking to see wayah bald and pretty much most of that area destroyed by fires the last couple months. I believe the AT is currently closed around there due to all of the wildfires.

Watching these videos truly brings tears to my eyes. Im only 41yrs old and am an avid camper. I would so love to do this but after 3 back surgeries I know there is no way that I could carry a pack all day. I wonder id I could make some kind of carbon fiber extremely light cart to pull with a pack on it.

I've hiked to Wesser Bald several times (to the firetower) that's so cool to see you hike a place I've been even if its from 5 years ago! It's definitely one of my goals in life to thru-hike at least the AT.

Fantastic videos! It really seems like you enjoy it, lots of other appalachian trail hiking videos I've watched seem so depressing. I hope when I get a little older I have the opportunity to hike the at!

So are there any sneaking into tents at night! Lol. I just wandered being out there so long and the nights you were able to enjoy a few beers seems like there would be a few hook ups going on!

Hey, love your videos! Can you tell me if you used a guide book as you did the trail? I'm trying to find the right book for planning- but not sure where to start. Any info would be great!

Two songs I love. Granted my favorite version of Ring of Fire is Social Distortion's and my favorite Country Roads is the Me First and the Gimme Gimmes version.

That is way too many people, there is a new trail under development west of the AT called the Great Eastern Trail, wilder, way fewer people, more my cup of tea.
