I Finally Saw Crater Lake

As many of you know, I lost the footage from my phone from a few stretches of my PCT Fire Closure Fill-in hike and was unable to recover it. Thankfully I was able to capture the very end of my journey with a replacement phone. This video consists of pieces of the stretches that were lost and the final few days of our journey

One cool thing about Crater Lake is that there's no inflow or outflow; it's filled completely by precipitation and loses water only through evaporation and ground seepage. Which is pretty wild for how big it is! I've never been there with that little snow around it. It's so awesome you got to do this section that you missed during the PCT and getting to go with your mom.

Nice having a National Geographic class photographer document your journey! Please, give Fancy a hug for me, she is such a lovable sweetie! I am the last of my tribe so I can only imagine what it was like to be able to spend such quality time with your Mother & Sister. Safe Travels, my friend.

Hey Dixie! I will be in CA for work in a month, and plan on going out several days early to spend some time in Yosemite. I was wondering if you could give me your recommendations for what will basically be a long weekend trip bouncing around Yosemite?

Perhaps the finest video I've seen you post Dixie. Love the nature scenes (how about that frog jumping and the butterflies taking off) mixed in with your Mother and pup. Know your Mom is raving about this experience with her little girl. Priceless.

Dixie, you've inspired me to get out and backpack, and now I'm sharing this series with my mum. Hopefully your mom inspires mine that she can do it too! Thanks to you both. And congrats on your triple crown!

I love watching your hiking videos! Knowing I will most likely not have a chance to do what you have accomplished, this lets me experience the sights & sounds of hiking! Can't wait for your Camino trip!

Hi Dixie. It looks like in a few if the later videos (I'm almost caught up) you are using a 360 camera? If so, which one is it and how do like it?
Can't wait to follow your European adventure!

I am LOVING all of the travel and hiking videos while we 'Shelter-in-place'. THANK YOU! I love that you are from Alabama, neighbors to my MS area. Blessings for safe travels!

It is lovely to see your mom hiking with you, YAY! I went to Crater lake back in the 90's, took my kids in a van from MS. haha. what a trip! But it was so beautiful.

What incredible footage! Gorgeous! Loved your mom touching the top of tree--I think about things like that too. Your Mom did great! Congratulations!
