Very nice, Dixie! I was wondering about your breathing in high altitude. You briefly were breathing pretty heavily at one point on the camera, but I thought you wouldn't have hardly any problem since you are so aerobically fit from walking so much, which you didn't. Nice! I'm not in shape, and would have a very rough time. My weight is very good now being on a whole food-plant based diet, and very healthy because of it, so if I could get in shape and be at maximum efficiency for the climb.
You have very good comradery on the trail. You are very good support for each other in case of emergency and in just mundane things like broken items, injuries, lost items.

This summer I did trail work on that trail (Forester Pass - JMT/PCT Junction) and it was an experience that changed my life. Watching this made me relive the whole thing. Those views are stunning and I couldn't believe that it was my commute everyday. Absolutely the most beautiful thing I've ever seen. Loved this video!

It's a bit condescending of you saying that this is the part that people skipped in 2017 cause it was too sketchy. That is simply not true. You obviously did the part in July or end of June and based on your video it had MUCH less snow than when people did it 1-2 months before you and decided to skip.

To see the Sunrise on Mt. Whitney is a great experience but it is not for the Faint of Heart. If the snowpack is still deep then it becomes very risky as there are steep drop-offs and it's easy to lose the trail when climbing in the early morning with just your headlamp to see with.

I remember sitting on Mt. Whitney while literally looking down on all the other people in the lower 48 states who weren't on top with me. I was feeling pretty smug about it at the time. It's very easy to start to get an elevated opinion of oneself while up there. ;-)

Hi Dixie! Love your videos. I found your AT videos and watched them all. That is a goal of mine after kids are grown. Now I'm watching these. One question I have. Do your legs not get cold hiking in shorts in the snow? Mine would turn to Popsicles!

Hi Dixie I've climbed Mt Whitney twice from both directions, I liked your music selection. If you think that was beautiful you should try the High Sierra trail. West to East ends at Whitney.
