Dixie picks up the pace over three passes and a muddy trail to make it to town for resupply. Ashley: I always look forward to your videos. I just wanted to say, girl. You are such a BADASS! Absolutely love your videos. I aspire to do a thru hike myself someday, and these are so informative. There is a girl i was watching who is a raw vegan that was doing the Appalachian trail. I was following her journey because she was a first time hiker as I will be. And I'm super bummed that she ended up getting off the trail after 2 months. I was really looking forward to her vlogs once she hit NH around October. But that's not going to happen now. Anyway, that just adds even more to your badassery! lol. Thank you for these videos. I learn a lot and the view is stunning!

FYI, at home I experimented with the instant mashed potatoes by frying them. Here is my recipe, one instant packet prepared, allow to cool off ( add butter here while warm if you want. Add 1/2 cup of flour, two eggs, green onions, or onions, chives etc, 1/3 to 1/2 cup of cheese(sharp cheddar taste the best) Mix well and fry in olive. Season with salt and pepper and enjoy. Of course you can add other ingredients if you like (bacon, sausage etc). Not sure if you can do this on the trail, but maybe in town? You can take left overs with you on the trail. Happy trails.

Flashback Dave (PCT Class of 2016. Have so enjoyed watching your series of videos because you do capture a window into what the trail is all about. I am curious to see how this all plays out. The hike is one thing. But the friends, and trail magic you meet along the way are what really ties it all together. I'm returning this year in July for Oregon, Washington, and PCT Days in Cascade Locks, OR in August.

I see it's getting a little rough. I wonder if the government invests anything in keeping the trail up or if it's just volunteers and charities. Obviously, they don't always keep the trail well marked and clear of debris, nor set up signs for temporary detours due to swollen streams or whatnot. Dixie has spunk.

Hay! You bleeped him out when he was saying what day it was 3: 20. I'm sure he said the 5th bleep but since this was posted on the 9th it must have been July 5th which kinda answered my question on the previous video (or back 2 vids) so I'm thinking I dont want to leave Kennedy Meadows till late June.

Wow, I binged 1 thru 19 today and I have to say you are a serious optomist. I noticed it first around episode 2 or early into 3. Not even like 51%, 55%, or 75%. You're like 99. 82%(I keep revising this up, because 99 wasn't high enough. Thanks for posting and I'm glad there more to come.

So you said it was warm in the day but isn't that water freezing when crossing, not to mention always walking in the snow. with basically sneakers? How many socks did you bring and how frequently did you change them? Did you shoes ever dry out? Were you cold often? Holy cow!

I'm late to this tv series, but I find it extremely enjoyable. I will be out there pretty soon going from Chinook Pass to EC Manning Provincial Park of God wills me to do this. Adventure is what it's all about.

Just finished JMT nobo last week and there was a dude by the Tuolumne Meadows store who had road rash all over his face. I wonder if he was the same dude you helped.
