2025 Buick Enclave Review - Can Value Be A Luxury

The ultimate question you have to ask yourself if you're cross-shopping the Buick against a mainstream or luxury alternative is: what's the badge worth If the answer is: $9, 000, then you'd be better off with the Lexus TX. If, on the other hand, you'd like to pocket the 9K and go on vacation instead, the Buick Enclave is the family-hauling luxo-barge for you! With considerably more room inside than the MDX or XC90 (and soon an 8-seat option, the Enclave's only major downside is the engine. It's not the lack of power, almost 330 HP is plenty, it's the gruff nature of the 4-cylinder turbo that seems at odds with the premium mission. But then again, there's that price tag. The Enclave is only a little more expensive than a Grand Highlander, less expensive than a Grand Cherokee L, while being bigger than either inside.

This Enclave blows the Lexus TX and Acura MDX out of the water in design alone. I think they did a better job of executing an upscale interior and exterior design than Mazda has with the CX-90 as well. The technology comparisons will be embarrassing for Mazda, Toyota and Honda. Reliability roughly the same as those Japanese brands and luxury/comfort is actually in Buick’s favor again as the TX doesn’t hold a candle to this in that regard. The Buick is also more spacious & practical even if it were the same price of the Lexus or Volvo I could see many reasons why a family would chose it over them. Buick did a good job with the packaging, interesting that the Enclave will also be thousands cheaper than those offerings. I didn’t expect that.

This looks amazing. Buick really outdid themselves
The GH and TX are officially toast. They’re history. They can’t compete.
The enclave Alex is 9K cheaper and better than the TX. If it were the other way around where the enclave is 9k more then absolutely yes it’s totally worth the cost. Paying more for a TX and getting a truly mediocre product is asinine. I’ve said this before and I’ll say it again: The TX falls apart in just about every way possible like the Mitsubishi mirage does. The enclave is cheaper and better. The best of both worlds.
Spare me the pathetic sales and the mythical reliability comments like that even matters

I already liked the broken one, but Ill like this one too! Buick is underappreciated in the quasi-premium segment. And as crazy as it sounds, at until 60 grand the Avenir is honestly still a bargain compared to any German or Japanese competitor. Not to mention the running costs! The same motor as the Traverse some sound deadening is still going to be very quiet and refined, and the cost of maintenance is the same as the Chevy. Now, of course, there are no sporting aspirations anywhere to be found, but as a family truckster to drive cross-country It makes a lot of sense to me.

I have to say, the Encalve and the TX are my favorite options in this segment, as much as I love the TX, I have to give to Buick, the interior does look better than the TX and I think the color scheme has a lot to do with that, although I do prefer the powertrains in the TX tho, plus it has heated and ventialted rear seats, which is a pretty big deal for me as Texas dweller

Can you explain why in your Traverse review your graphic shows Grand Highlander has 118. 8 inches combined legroom and in this reviewclaim it is 114. 7 Which is correct If the first, it undercuts a large portion of your assertions on space Does your team check this stuff Thank you.

Buick isn’t supposed to be fast, fuel efficient or sporty. They are known for being giant vehicles that float down the road with 10/10 reliability. We don’t need yet another brand to be a sports car with 40mpg. Buick needs to be a Buick first and foremost,

I dont remember which car I was in, but to use the shift paddles, you had to first double tap one. As I have hit the paddles on accident, it makes sense to have way to activate them. I much prefer that double tap to an additonal button tho.

100% agree on the front look, not sure why they designed that way. I am still in my 17 enclave due to the roomy 1st and 2nd row. significantly larger than my mdx. was considering some EVs but the headroom is a issue for me

Buick has built a minivan with 4 doors. Highest trim level 10K more than Sienna top model. Less efficient packaging interior to boot. People worry so much about image vs usefulness and a better value.

This is actually quite impressive. Needs a hybrid drivetrain, but it's good they went luxury over sportiness here. Comfort and interior design are of utmost importance in the segment and this delivers.

Between our first cut that our proofreading team checked out and the final upload, Premiere Pro had a hiccup and there were some graphics that went wrong, hopefully this one is better

who would have thought 10 years ago that Buick would make a comeback and offer interesting, good looking and competitive luxury cars. Who’s behind this resurrection and why it took so long
reply

The front is nice, the rear is adequate but the profile just isn't quite there. The wheel arches are weird.
The second row bench seat will make it a great alternative to minivans.

Good review and great information. Now if they can have better powertrain options such as a hybrid or plug -in- hybrid they would be more competitive in fuel economy.

Engine is. not that good. Tried it out and it's just not refined at all, and not actually that fast. The Honda V6 feels better even though it is less powerful on paper.
reply

Travis said differential when he meant difference. Syllable multiplication out of control, like when Alex says functionality rather than, ah, function.
reply

I don’t see this interior color listed as an option for the Avenir on Buick’s website The only 2 options on their website is Black or Blue
reply

Man! For that much money! I will get MDX with more powerful engine or the volvo xc90 with their hybrid system. Not buying this 2. 5L engine that much
reply

Alex, how did you manage to break your tape measure!
In my experience, that normally takes a dedicated effort to achieve.

reply

Excellent review as always! Yep. seems a lot of car mfg's are going towards that angry open-mouth front end look these days.
