Looking for a 2-door Lexus but can afford the LC? Theres a RC for that and youll get the same 5. 0L V8 under the hood if you e willing to pay enough. The high-performance RC looks as menacing as any of the competition, but unfortunately the more traditional V8 under the hood can match the competitions acceleration figures. Can the rest of the package and Lexus well deserved reliability reputation compensate?

Is this correct? :Canadian Press Comments on Electric Powered Vehicles Interesting It would seem that if electric cars do not use gasoline, they will not participate in paying gasoline tax on every gallon that is sold for automobiles, which was enacted some years ago to help to maintain your roads and bridges. They will use the roads, but will not pay for their maintenance Ever since the advent of electric cars, the REAL cost per mile has never been discussed. All you ever hear is the mpg in terms of gasoline, with no mention of the cost of electricity. Electricity has to be one of the least efficient ways to power cars, yet it is being shoved down your throats. Glad somebody finally put engineering and math to paper. A British Columbia Hydro executive was quoted as saying: If you really intend to adopt electric vehicles, you have to face certain realities. For example, a home charging system for a Tesla requires 75 amp service. Many houses are equipped with only 100 amp service. On a small street (approximately 25 homes, the electrical infrastructure would be unable to carry more than three houses with a Tesla. If even half the homes to have electric vehicles, the system would be wildly over-loaded. This is the elephant in the room with electric vehicles. Your residential infrastructure cannot bear the load. So as your genius elected officials promote this nonsense, not only are you being urged to buy these things and replace your reliable, cheap generating systems with expensive, new windmills and solar cells, but you will also have to renovate your entire delivery system This latter investment will not be revealed until youre so far down this dead end road that it will be presented with an OOPS and a shrug. A man named Eric test drove the Chevy Volt at the invitation of General Motors and he writes, For four days in a row, the fully charged battery lasted only 25 miles before the Volt switched to the reserve gasoline engine. Eric calculated the car got 30 mpg including the 25 miles it ran on the battery. So, the range including the 9-gallon gas tank and the 16 kwh battery is approximately 270 miles. It will take you 4. 5 hours to drive 270 miles at 60 mph. Then add 10 hours to charge the battery and you have a total trip time of 14. 5 hours. In a typical road trip your average speed (including charging time) would be 20 mph. According to General Motors, the Volt battery holds 16 kwh of electricity. It takes a full 10 hours to charge a drained battery. The cost for the electricity to charge the Volt is never mentioned. If you pay approximately (it varies with amount used and the seasons) 1. 16 per kwh. 16 kwh x 1. 16 per kwh = 18. 56 to charge the battery. 18. 56 per charge divided by 25 miles = 0. 74 per mile to operate the Volt using the battery. Compare this to a similar size car with a gasoline engine that gets only 32 mpg. 3. 19 per gallon divided by 32 mpg = 0. 10 per mile. The gasoline powered car costs about 20, 000 while the Volt costs 46, 000-plus. It looks like the Greenies in the American Government want loyal Americans NOT to do the math, but simply pay three times as much for a car, that costs more than seven times as much to run, and takes three times longer to drive across the country.

How is it that you were completely dismissive of the fact the RCF is kitted out from the factory with racing spec brakes, tires, engine, transmission, differential, chassis etcetera to do repeat hot-laps on a track against the M4? A non-M or non-RS German car isnt designed for this and would eventually break down from such abuse. and yet you draw comparisons. And how many times and in how many different ways did you say faster like it isnt negligible? Go look at MotorTrends Head 2 Head Ep. 59 where the M4 is only. 3 seconds faster around the Streets of Willow (hot lap with a professional driver and M4 has a 13000 price as tested premium. Now go look at some rolling races on the internet of M4 vs RCF or read real world user reviews on forums and youll learn the instant responsiveness of the NA V8 versus the Ms turbo lag makes the RCF the better overall car for quick (unplanned) passes or maneuvers under typical daily driver scenarios. Youre usually spot on Alex, but that was a pretty lame review with the multiple German cars are faster comments, when in reality the performance is negligible and only a point of contention between two race cars drivers on a track.

The RC-F is a pretty tough sell for those who are German loyalists or number snobs. For more visceral people like me the RC is a masterpiece. Its looks like nothing else on the road, sounds like Thor, and would likely will not break. I know people get tired of hearing the Lexus reliability argument, but for people like me who cant/arent willing to spend 70, 000 on a car, buying one used for 40, 000 that will still work 200, 000 miles down the road is hugeThe RC-F gets outperformed by the M4, yes. BMW has decades of high performance cars under their belt. No question the lighter, turbocharged M4 would be more focused. But being outperformed by a surgical M4 and being a bad car are two different things. The RC-F is still fast. It still handles well. Its still loaded with luxury features. It still benefits from Lexus build quality and owner experience. It still looks great, especially in white with the carbon fiber roof and spoiler. And maybe most importantly, its still has a NA 5. 0L V8 that has no issues revving to 7, 500 rpms. The RC-F is still a good car.

Hey Alex, I have a suggestion for a vehicle function that Id like to see pointed out in vehicles equipped with paddle shifters. Namely, what happens when you pull a paddle while the shift mode is normal drive. Some cars ignore the paddles until switched to manual, others will enter a temporary manual mode that either times out back to automatic, dynamically holds manual mode until it thinks youre back to cruising (Modern Mazdas do this, works very well) or stays in manual until shift back into drive. I know thats a kind of silly thing but Ive found it makes a huge difference to me as a person who can only stomach an automatic if it has paddles that work well. Keep up the great work

I own a 2018 RC 350 and I have to say. I absolutely love it. I traded my old 3 series for it, and its a much better car. I do wish Lexus would swap transmissions and go to a ZF as opposed to their AISIN, but frankly the car is a really nice balance of every day livability and fun driving. Theyre also pretty rare, so people tend to think RCs are WAY more exotic than they really are; no joke, people think its some kind of supercar. Everyone has seen a 4 series and a C class and an A5, they look like every other Bimmer and Merc and Audi. The Lexus looks like nothing else on the road, which is why people stop and talk to me about the car all the time.

I wish the swoosh from the back LED strip was implemented in the front too. The front Nike swoosh it too angular. Also, youd be lucky to get 19MPG average on Premium only with this car, in addition to getting anywhere below 200/month for insurance with full coverage. The car is not avaialble in AWD, 20k too expensive to buy for what it is and sits way to low for city curbs. I dont know. for 70k there are much better options out there, considering this is not even the GSF full size sedan inside and out. The inside is the exact copy of the IS which is 30K. Not sure why Lexus thinks they can charge 40, 000 extra for a V8 and a hybrid platform.

I think for shoppers who arent really buying this to be drag-racing with specific competing cars, the RCF with the V8 will more than meet their needs especially with Lexuss reliability and the sweet-sounding v8 note which translates to many trouble-free miles of delightful and spirited driving. But if money is no object and the acceleration is a must not minding long-term reliability, Id pick the C63s for performance, brand badge, interior/exterior design and tech and also a lovely engine note. The RS5 and the M4 look a little too vanilla like their sedan close cousins (A4 & 3-series.

That the Anniversary edition you can tell by the blue interior and Matt finish paint job. These are a limited edition. Of course it has bite it has all the ingredients that it needs to be excellent and it is excellent. The perfect blend of luxury and performance with styling that doesnt blend in with the German competition. The RCF is easily one of the coolest looking car on sale right now. Love the interior Especially those seats and the sound of that V8 is crackin good. I definitely want to one of these.

My RCF is plenty fast, license threatening fast, AAMOF, and Ive had 2 years of trouble free enjoyment. To me, the NA V8 is preferable to FI, for all the usually mentioned reasons. I have much track experience, but that not what I bought this car for. Any track rat knows at least 2 things: 1) Dont track a car you cant afford to walk away from (or pay for track insurance every time. 2) Lap times are 90% driver and 10% car. What to take up track days? Heres a recommendation made more than any other: get a Miata.

Lexus Is the league of predator nothing like Toyota and Nissan product. this lexus rcf is a growling predator out of the predator movie, at least Toyota and Nissans vehicles stand out from the other automakers they make the most unique looking vehicles which I like. The lexus lx 570 and Lexus lc are the examples of uniqueness. And from Nissan the Infiniti QX80 and Nissan Murano are the most unique vehicles.
