tho i really like how the interior of the gls, i'm a bmw guy and would go that route. i also don't like the gauges they use on the x7 and prefer a more traditional layout like in the current x3 with the gfx and physical rings. also you can't code Mercedes and that is disappointing.

This is abut 4 inches longer than the Lincoln Aviator, which seems to slot between the X5 and X7If you are shopping for a large 3-row crossover, the Aviator should be drivenLoaded, it stops where this one starts. I would get this over the GLS.

BMW owns Rolls-Royce, and many RR owners also have a Range Rover. While it is fair to compare the X7 to the GLS, I suspect BMW is really trying to offer a reasonable choice to Range Rover, thereby keeping business in the family.

I agree Alex, the front dash is gorgeous on the Benz and while it might come with a few more inches of leg room Id still lean towards the X7. The overall quality of the interior is just on another level.

Don't get your fuel economy C grade. If 20mpg is comparable to other 3 row luxury SUVs shouldn't the score be at a B for average? I've watched all your videos (yea all) and C is your F equivalent score.

Alex, great review. Thank you. I'm ok if the x7 rides softer for a BMW. It's the flagship and should ride like one. I wonder if the x7 will hurt the 7 series sedan sale in the u. s.

BMW can release an M version of the X7 with, sportier styling add-ons, engine upgrades and a stiff suspension to appeal to traditional BMW buyers bothered by a plush ride.
