Wiring up the RAV4 with a 7-pin harness wasn't as big of a pain as I thought. Admittedly we didn't complete the whole enchilada because I use a wireless trailer brake controller, but overall it took about 2 hours and the job was well worth it. bird718: defiantly buy with the factory hitch and wiring harness, thats one of my regrets. i wasnt happy with the way it looked so i skipped it and was thinking of aftermarket stealth hitches, now its to late to fix that mistake.

Why? You shouldnt be towing anything that needs trailer brakes with that tiny vehicle anyway. Also, if you dont have the proper wire crimper, dont do the job. And nail polish to seal things? Just stop. I like your vehicle reviews, but giving electrical how-tos is not your thing.

I love it when manufacturers put 12V battery inside the trunk or hatch because it makes wiring electronics inside cabin alot easier. Electronics like trailer brakes, Amplifiers, After market stereos and Subwoofers

Nice installation video Alex. You don't mind that when you reinstall your spare tire that it will be crushing down on and possibly chafing that portion of the trailer wiring harness?

Get ready for 1/2 fuel economy on highway compared to not towing. Also prepare for increased engine whine my friend Otherwise my RAV4 pulls trailer well, even through mountains.
