I have an 04 GMC that I drive daily and has been incredibly reliable over the years. For people like me who keep a vehicle for a long time what is going to happen in 8-10 years when all this computerized crap is way outdated and quits working? My wifes 2017 Chevy is in the shop right now and has been for 3 weeks because they have to replace the touch screen and entire wiring harness back to the rear camera. Im not interested in all this overly-complicated techno bullshit they force on you with these new vehicles. I want a reliable truck that will last, not a damn smartphone on wheels that I have to replace every 2 years because its obsolete. I think Ill get 10 more years out of the truck I have and with the money Ive saved not buying one of these Tesla-trucks Im looking to buy a nice old K5 Blazer. :-D

Now I remember why Ive never bought a GMC Denali product. even though I love GMC and the Denali line. Its because they tout themselves as premium but cheap-out on things. A manual tilt-telescoping column; really? Two-way lumbar instead of the industry standard 4 way; again, really? And the list goes on. What killed it for me the last time I considered a GMC Denali is that only the driver side window was auto-up And no rain-sensing wipers. So idk. Maybe they finally have some of these features, which are basics for anything touted as a premium brand, but clearly GMC is still cheaping out. This, on trucks that cost a fortune. Damn shame. And look at those gauges from the 1980s and STILL the huge swaths of cheap black plastic everywhere. Cmon GM.

Theres no denying that the Ram has the better interior, but the GMC has the far superior driving dynamics, styling (opinion, drivetrain (at least with the 6. 2L and 10-speed, interior room, and bed. I just got back from test driving the one Sierra Denali our local dealer has on the lot (3 others were sold basically the moment they arrived) and I came away far more impressed than I thought Id be. The interior takes the older-gen interiors basic design and turns it up to 11 - much better switchgear, much clearer screens, better materials (eg. real aluminum, more real wood, more soft touch materials, better layout for the switchgear, and generally keeps an attractive - though somewhat aged - design alive.

Sponsored Content. Love how Alex says the Rams air suspension will cost more to replace than the adaptive Sierra suspension even though he doesnt know the cost. Yet the advanced cylinder deactivation system in the Sierra must cost peanuts to fix as well, right? This whole reviewfelt very one sided. The interior on here is terrible for a truck and horrible for a luxury truck yet no mention in this video. I guess customers GM surveyed didnt want a nice interior either. Everything bad you seem to have an excuse for.

I think the word he was trying to reach for or imply was this version of GMC skip deactivation in theory would offer better wear of the engine or more even wear than having the same 4 cylinders deactivated. For now Ill buy into the random deactivation but Im going to wait a couple years to see how this irons out. Im looking for a pickup truck but I wont be buying any vehicle thats a first generation model.

They shaved weight (450 lbs) off the truck, brag about a new cylinder deactivation system, better aerodynamics and it gets the same fuel economy numbers as my 2015 Sierra (which, by the way are a bit inflated. Never got 21 MPG highway or 16 city. The new body style has grown on me since I first saw it but I could never get past the inflated sticker. Thats just me. Very in-depth review though.

REALLY Alex No thanks Not to mention major deprecation and expensive repair cost.

No one does an overview of the base model V6 work trucks. Some of us prefer traditional standard cab, two door, eight foot bed trucks. The GMC Denali, Chevrolet High Country (if still available) or the high trim level Ram would be fine for use as a family car, albeit quite expensive. The manufacturers seem to have forgotten some people actually use a truck as a truck.

IMHO. these new GM trucks are a total fail. Cylinder deactivate in a random pattern? OMG. hope they at least last 10 years. if lucky. Also, with those terribly high gear ratios at 3. 23 and 3. 42, these trucks will NOT NOT want larger tires. So, lift the truck and put larger tires. and kill all performance Especially if you think you might tow.

You know, I think most actual professionals Ive seen are in smaller Ford and Toyota trucks, usually older ones. These new trucks are HUGEI like all the cameras and the light test for the trailer, that could save lives and I always found backing up in a truck without a camera a pain. Weird not to have a bench in the front, I guess I must be old.
