Porsche Cayman GTS review: We put to of the greatest driver's cars on the market head-to-head on track. Will the Porsche Cayman GTS or the Alpine A110S come out on top with the fastest lap time?

Big fan of the Alpine 110s, nice engine note from the 4 cylinder, looks planted although surprised to learn of the understeer in the wet/damp. Took delivery of my Cayman GTS 4. 0 in November. Having owned the 718 S previously I can confirm the engine soundtrack is transformed. whether just cruising in town or pushing it hard on sweeping backroads. Two great cars, each offering something slightly different. Each to their own but very happy with my choice. just looking forward to some better weather!

Nice review, but can you so-called professional journalists from the UK please learn how to pronounce the name of one of the most important brands on the planet?
It's Poh-she or Por-sha, two simple syllables that even you can learn.
Is Nike pronounced 'Neekie', is Telsa pronounced 'Tea-sla'? No, everyone knows that.
How many years is it going to take for it to sink into your weird British skulls?

1480 kg for the cayman gts kerb weight are you serious? This is enormous, it's only 195kg lighter than a 918 with its huge batteries, especially for a gts supposed to be lighter than the basics, that's closer from a sledgehammer than a sports car, that's disappointing coming from Porsche

A110 (non S) for the daily and a Lotus Cup or Porsche GT4 for going quick! This time gap would have been larger in the dry btw. A) the GTS could have used more of its power advantage and B) the softer suspension of the Alpine helps with weight transfer in the wet

Thought with it being wet that this would help a smaller, lighter car. but you said that the wet helped the heavier car? PS the Alpine will still have understeer in the dry as you said it was engineered in as a safety feature.

Glad to see the initial hype surrounding the Alpine, has well & truely been quashed, and the Porsche has proven it is the better machine.
I look forward to seeing the same thing happen to the new, over-hyped, Yaris.

Porsche will always make the ultimate daily sports cars. There-s a reason why people aspire to the brand in a similar way to much more exotic brands -

Gordon Murray, father of McLaren F1, takes alpine as daily drive for benchmark to develop his new analogic supercar T50. What's more to say?

Track looked quite a bit dryer during the Alpine lap. I-d like to see this revisited on a dry track and with the PDK for the GTS.

Totally unfair BS comparision. use the cayman S instead the GTS against the Alpine! Quicker or slower? .I prefer the Alpine!
