2021 Audi e-tron GT review: see how fast Audi\'s Tesla rival gets from 0-150mph Tom: I prefer a transmission-range isn-t great-nothing like a petrol acceleration sound-steering seems light-what about battery life-takes time for charge stops. and so on. I thought all of these things six months ago. So my plan was to trade in my 2018 Audi S5 for a new RS5. I arrived at the dealer lot in upstate NY state, got ready to test the RS5, and noticed a Daytona Grey 2022 e tron GT performance package. Gorgeous, I thought, but I want the RS5. Just out of curiosity, I asked to sit in it. Wow. Very nice. Then I asked to test drive it. Long story short, I returned the next day and bought the GT. Utterly impressive and dazzling in every possible way. Completely amazed and surprised me. I-ve owned great performance sedans. But this is it. Performance, style, function, cache, comfort, efficiency, operating cost, all have exceeded expectations. Never close to being stranded, between my home charger and on-road high speed stations. After six months I still get envious glances, thumbs ups, and lots of questions from other petrol performance car drivers. Expensive for sure but worth every single penny for the satisfaction it brings me. If you get the chance, drive one and see how you feel. I am all in on this performance EV. And compared to this Audi GT, the Tesla is just a smart phone with wheels.

This Car looks beautiful but honestly it feels like car manufacturers are loosing sight in how to actually create a hold on the EV market. They have all of these brilliant engineers but haven-t done anything to foster to creating formidable competition. Not to be that guy but it really is true that Tesla is the prime standard of what EV-s are supposed to be - especially in regards to -bang for the buck. - Times ahead dictate an EV takeover and rightly so - will this EV future ever be accessible to all and who will last in the next ten years? We-ll have to see.
- from a guy who doesn-t have a car.

How to out Porsche Porsche, no, not really, it does the Tesla party trick, the pushed back into your seat acceleration in a straight line, but how does it handle fast day to day driving, Tesla if you like, has killed off the minority, only real supercars performance, and stuck in the. option box, warp speed is getting so what, it-s putting bums on seats that haven-t got the talent to drive one safety, I-ve driven some fast cars in my time, and, I-ve found going fast on main roads gets scary because you-ve less margin for error, and it-s wide, so Carparks might be a no go.

So good to see Steve back on our screens I thought he had suddenly retired. this gets a thumbs up. haven't watched it yet, it has made my day. One of my all time favourite writers. I have found myself over the years reading his articles and realising it was him, before I had even looked to check, his style is so identifiable. and that is rare. well done. more of Graham please. ! Auto express, EVO, Dennis, all of you.

For me the Tesla is still
Possibly the best EV car on the planet but.
Until Tesla can match the build quality on every car as good as the Audi, BMW and Mercedes especially the lines and the Ooo feeling these cars give you Tesla will always be seen as a poor mans car!

Like it or not EV are going to take over. But for hells sake build them with a decent sound track internally and externally. If not just for pedestrian safety, but for driving pleasure!

Why Steve has never been a mainstream TV motoring journo is beyond me. Awesome driving skills, as befits any person who has raced the mighty Tuscan. Well done on the weight loss too: )

Can't wait for the forthcoming electric Macan range, though I'm perfectly happy keeping my petrol S model for a few years yet, until all the petrol stations close!

I love the look of the car, however range is still a problem and so is charging times. I would prefer a conventional power train thanks.
