Jaguar F-Pace SVR 2021 first drive review: supercharged V8 brute gets an even smarter suit Osman: This review doesn't make any sense.
Firstly, wouldn't you praise the SVR for having a 5. 0l and how JLR has still managed to implement such an engine in 2020/2021 considering all the stringent rules and regulations in place? Engine like these are dying and are becoming less apparent in modern vehicles. So we should be celebrating the engine rather than criticising it especially its age, which is irrelevant.
Secondly, the guy does a 0-60 run but doesn't actually share the actual figures. The aim of doing a review is to provide a professional judgement on the vehicle including an overview of what the vehicle is like to use for the end user and testing the accuracy of the manufacturer's claims and how they stack up in a more realistic setting.

Nothing smaller than a V8 can compete with it in the sound department or towing capacity. But it-s just not enough bang for the buck. A V8 weighs more, costs more, and is nose heavy. A V6 is lighter and can fit lower in the engine bay with a lower center of gravity. That gives the V6 the edge in handling. Turbo charging makes a V6 just as fast (or faster) than a V8 as the German manufacturers have discovered. I noticed that the Porsche Macan shifted from a larger V6 with one turbo charger to a smaller V6 with two turbo chargers. But all this is becoming irrelevant as both engines are swept aside by electric engines. So we should enjoy the V8 while we can.

I almost bought an F-Type SVR and found out they are all automatic transmission. Don't care if the automatic Transmission is faster. I had bought the 2016 Mustang in the automatic Transmission paddle shifters. At the time I thought, if it was good for F1 drivers, or the technology is relevant. It was good for a month, gee it got bloody boring. I miss the 6 speed manual transmission of the Lotus Elise package. I dread the day I won't have the choice to buy a 6 speed manual transmission, let alone not drive myself. Whenever the steering wheel disappears

Just because time is passing on, doesn't necessarily mean we're progressing. Advanced societies have regressed in moments of madness and the whole 'environmental' issue is one such case in point. Bad ideas that have caused millions to die (we're just beginning to see these effects in Texas recently, California and Germany) haven't stopped certain types of politician from pushing them, because they win votes (in the beginning.
This is a beautiful crossover and one that's the least appealing to school-run mums. Thumbs up from me.

No that engine is absolutely superb in the SVR's, so what if its a few tenths slower, that instant throttle response and the soundtrack levels up Jaguar in my opinion to better than their rivals, I'd take an RR SVR, F-Pace SVR or F-Type SVR over what BMW, Merc, Audi has to offer, they are all a little boring in comparison, only Porsche are still making exciting stuff on Germany side!

I drove the BMW M5 V8 and was sad.
I drove the previous JAG SVR F-Pace LOVED IT, actually had one on order to have this model delivered, then they cancelled as didn't know release date and price. :-(
I would not consider this car with a twin turbocharger as sounds like a. Well there is no sound.

As for turbo charging being technically more advanced than supercharging I should remind everybody that turbocharging is the older technology; first appearing in 1902, supercharging in 1904. Turbos are more efficient but superchargers have a broader flatter torque response.

Buying an electric car today with solid state batteries on the horizon, as Jaguar may have realised having wisely scrapped their XJ plans, might mean that celebrating the last of the internal combustions, as this engine does, could well be the most relevant decision to make today.

You have it wrong regrading the V8. It is what it is and does what it needs to. The only thing against it is fuel economy and I really don-t care. about that.
Rather pointless and nitpicky criticism in my view.
It-s marvelous and fantastic value for money.

I predict the F-pace svR re -sale will fetch more money than any current model available by Jaguar. My second f-pace svR just like the one shown in the video has just arrived for me at my dealership in Willimington Delaware, orange is the new ultra blue.
