You have a black primer front clip. An intermittent open in communication. You go to it to inspect and play and watch, then theres a dent or hole.
It got biffed in the fender bender, and the body guys said, im not touching that system.
Bad joo joo.
Let the techs deal with that. Just bolt and snap together, align, no finish, send it on from us to the customer to take it to a computer tech mechanic glutton for punishment.
We dont even have the electronic box on the estimate.

Thank you for making this video, even though you weren’t feeling it. I’m a service writer, I do not know 1/16th of what you know. The steps for diagnosing, the thought process of what to question and observe, is the same; whether there is physical damage to a component or not. Watching you track down a problem is nothing short of awesome. It’s like a who done it mystery, that you solve. I’m sorry if that sounds silly, but it is awesome to watch you go through the process. So thank you. Also, the video from the other day when you and Mrs. O went hunting was really awesome as well. Life is about learning, you and Mrs. O are great teachers that set good examples.

Hello Eric: Pushing Through when you are in a Funk says a lot. The video well worth watching. You have many of your viewers wondering if there is going to be more than just the ABS unit replacement required. If Wilberts is involved it will be a bonus as you allways make that trip interesting. Keep the videos coming and we will watch them. Have a great Thanksgiving, if you or a family member managed a gobbler enjoy the feast. If you got one from a grocer Enjoy the Feast.

Heads up: On Toyotas when it asks you where a car was made and what specific features it has on Toyotas it's actually pretty important. Each factory generally only made one or two trim levels with specific packages. This is especially important on Corollas which have like 8 completely different models with completely different diag stuff.
You can find where it was made by the VIN plate on the driver door sill, it will say where the car was made.

Hi Eric, well you asked for comments lol, first thing i would do is disconnect the battery for 10 minutes, works wonders sometimes, think i would concentrate on the one that's red all the time on you scan tool, if you can cure that it might cure the problem, could try disconecting some of the modules one at a time, but you have prob cured it by now and its prob none of those, have a nice day, Fred in Uk.

Mr O. you are DA BOMB as the young'uns would say when it comes to elec gremlins. I live down near Binghamton n' it'd ALMOST be worth the 60-70 mile trip n a motel stay JUST to have ya find my Chevy S10 evap gremlins that I've been chasing for 5 months, even tho we dont have emissions req's in my PA county. 'preciate what you show us n' keep up the awesome informative vids you put out!

Eric, just watched one of Ivan's videos from 5 years ago, exact same problem on a Toyota Camry, same communication fail with ABS and the cluster needles were jumping around intermittently, no visible damage to the module, Ivan pulled it apart no corrosion inside, maybe a component failure, fitted one off eBay which fixed the problem, maybe you should have check with Ivan first!

Seeing as it had suffered a frontal impact, the modules should have been inspected first visually and given the wiggle test. If it was covered and repaired by Insurance, they should also cover the damage to the ABS module. It's more likely it was bought damaged from auction and flipped after basic repairs to make it appear better visually.

You may think the video sucked but it once again teaches the process of troubleshooting. It also shows that when a car is body repaired there is a level of acceptability to the repair in certain shops. Thank you for your excellent instructional / tutorial videos and Happy Thanksgiving.

I got a used ABS module from eBerts He-Pulled It for my sons 2001 Xterra couple four years ago and it’s still working. Kinda a dice roll but usually ok. Makes you wonder though how many other components on that bucket have holes rotted in them.

So he has a Kia where the rear camera takes out the entire car.

A while back, I had a Camry that a friend asked me to check out, I think it was a 2012. It turned out to be the ABS module (electronic portion. It was a pattern failure. I bought a reconditioned one and installed it. Problem solved.

I'd really be interested to find out why the car, (seemingly, has all new panels forward of the windscreen.
