Ford F150 5. 4 No Start, No Crank, No Communications Codes: U1900, U2023
video description
Pulled up the fuse box and sure enough the wire was chewed clean through between the fuse and relay. Seems that a chipmunk thought the fuse box was a cozy place to hide for a while. Spliced it back together and built a couple of sheet metal rodent shields to block both ends of the fuse box where the wires go under.
PS - on my 2014 F150 the fuse box is under the hood, which is why the chippies had access to the fuse box.

This is Great, Trouble Shooting explained very clear & to the Point, Eric is a Real Professional. I have been a Mechanic for Over 50 years and I LEARNED a Lot from this. There are a Lot of videos on line However Many take to Long to Really get to the Point of the Issue / Problem I am trying to Locate.

As always - your methodical approach to troubleshooting saves the day - do you have power to the module in question? Check out the circuit diagram that shows what feeds power to the module and go from there. Great job and nice teaching video.

I have the same problem no cranking no click. i did the tune up, change the starter turn the engine on directly for the starter. After did nothing no start. Cheked the relays as you did and theyre fine. would you have any idea what can be.

I have a 150 2006. The starter will not engage once a day. Hot or cold. I have changed the starter five times. Just changed the wire harness that goes to the starter. The key switch and the relay. It is really intermediate.

Awesome! In development engineering - anything goes. In troubleshooting engineering of stuff that worked before, the mantra is: Is it plugged in? Is it turned on? Rinse and repeat. This process will solve nearly all faults.

Have 05 expedition. Same symptoms but relay had no corrosion. Put the other relay next to it in position and started 5 times in a row. And think was just ready to pull starter and replace. Saved me major cash thanks

I was hoping it wouldn't start after that relay find. Cause I have the same issue, but my relays look fine. I put power right to the starter and it works, but turning the key does nothing with the starter.

I work on transmitters and I am seeing a lot of parts coming from dubious places right out of the factory with dirty, rusty or corroded parts. Apparently they store their raw materials in a mud pit.
