So question if anybody can help even a little. I have a 01 ford ranger edge 4. 0 v6. It is saying cyl 4 misfire I've replaced the following
1. Spark plugs
2. Plug wires
3. coil pack
4. Egr valve pressure modulator
5. Egr vacuume modulator
So far still runs like crap very seldom does it have its moments where you will start it up and it runs perfect but will only run good for about 2 min then will start missing again. I'm done throwing parts at it until I find out for sure what it is causing it. And also before this happened it ran perfect never had a problem with it. But at this point if I can't fix it I'm close to selling it and being done but don't wanna do that cause I love the truck.

That's what brothers are for. Help first rag later. Happens. Get your hands crossed or Interrupted and there you go. I swap plug wires one time and I had a wicked intermittent mess couldn't figure it out I traced each plug wire out everything looked right. Course it helps if you make sure all the plug wires are push all the way down on the plugs and all the way into the distributor cap! Hey was hot out. I was too young to drink beer! No big ones Scott you didn't break it. You got a great brother he had it over there his family should and you got it solved. It's all good

Easy to do. My 3. 0 is 123 on one side. 465 on the other. Thats looking at a coil pack and not the firing order. On bank 2 it is very easy to mix up 5 and 6. Because looking at it 5 and 6 makes since. But it not, It's 6 and 5. I have seen many people on the 3. 0 mix 5 and 6 up, including my self. The way I remember it is 123465. If your coil pack is mounted like his. This is probably not the firing order. Just the way to help me remember because we on 3 vehicles that are 3. 0.

I remember when I was a kid growing up on the east coast, the dirt roads to lake side camps and rural access roads were sprayed down with, I think, creosote or something of that nature, to keep the dust down. As I recall that changed while I was still pretty young. Hard to remember that far back with any clarity. Stuff happens. All the wires look the same. what do I do now? Thanks for the video.

Only lasts for 2 days? Wow! Seems like a never ending PITA. You pay for a new ride and you get 10 yrs. or so before it rusts out (so I've heard. Doesn't sound very economical. I'd probably just lease for a few yrs. I live out west. We get rust, but not very bad. But we don't have year round road treatment. They only salt the roads when it snows, and where I live that's about 1 week a year. Maybe.

Great Video! 2 cylinder misfire dumping twice the air at the 02 on B2! Simple enough math, but I learned the hard way about not pulling plug wires out of a distributer or ign coil! MAN THAT HURT! If you use a grounded screwdriver that would work/won't light you up! Oh ya. ICE CREAM! THAT LOOKED SO GOOD!

Good job yeah I've done the same damn thing those wires you get them cross and it goes wide I do why isn't it running right and find out you cross them couple wires it makes you feel like it. Yay tall well then you can say okay I'm a dumbass fix it and go on right

I know this is an old video but i. always reply I'm sure you know this but I had trouble with the ford Mazda inbreed it carries 8 plugs four hot ones an four cold ones I know yours is a 6 banger but the plugs matter for sure
