heres how to bleed brake solo (with very good results): take a few feet of aquarium tubing or similar, drill hole in small bottle and insert tube, connect tube to bleeder. The tube must immediately go up and then loop it overe soomething like the side mirror or something, as long as tthe tube is a straight shot up. crack tthe bleeder just enough to flow a good amount. pump brake slowly and hold for a couple seconds each time down. when you hold down, all the air will flow up the tube and the fluid will go down. if you do it right, you will have better results then any other way there is. once you know how too set it up it takes about 5 minutes to bleed all 4 tires and have ALL the air out.

Had the same thing happen on my 2001 4. 7 GC Got a brand new caliper not a rebuilt caliper was the fix for me, I replaced the rubber steel brake line and thinking it was that, the rebuilt caliper sat for 6 months and wasd on the maiden voyage to town after I had just finished the trans solenoid kit install, My friend at NAPA was the one who spurred me onto that solution, Good luck WJ XJ Jeep lovers

Like the video! Beautiful, lush & green there! I live in western WA, similar & beautiful: ) I've been to NY but not all around to see it like that.
Fun to see wrenching at home & some struggles that come with that. Noticed you weren't playing around too much though- got the air tools on it! Good video! Dogs & ride along a super bonus too

You have very nice dogs and a nice property. I noticed some algae in the pond where your dogs swim. Please be wary of blue-green algae. If you have any of that stuff in your pond, it can be deadly to your dogs. I'd hate to see them getting hurt. In any case, keep posting your videos. I enjoy them very much. Cheers!

I can tell Eric isn't used to working in the dirt. Always keep a 3ft length of 2 x 12 with that little floor jack. When placed under the jack, it keeps that jack from being driven into the soft earth. They're called banjo bolts because the line fitting they go through looks like a banjo.

A friend of mine has a jeep cherokee about this same year. she said that for some reason it will sit over night and then stall a few times then doesn't act up till after it sits again over night; any ideas or suggestion as to the cause?

I got into a escape brake job the calipers had 9mm allen. as some may know 9mm dont come with your allen sets but Ive got a bunch of allen socket. so I got a regular 9mm socket and a 10mm allen socket and made me a 9mm allen

oof you have the shitty ATE calipers on it. The Akebono brand ones will swap right on there without an issue. Well worth the investment should you ever have to do it again, and best of all you don't need the allen sockets.

Sooooooooooo. how much play should be in the pad slots after cleaning? Ive had some new pads I thought were too snug and might not release after braking especially after dirt gets in the slots. I file them down a bit.

Gawd. Those little trolley jacks scare the piss out of me. I've seen those things' frames just buckle under a normal load. If I had nothing else, I suppose I'd use one though. But I'd be very cautious.
